DRUNK DOGS
This recipe has been passed around our family for years. I do not know the origin, but our family loves it. It is now a holiday tradition. It's simple and quick, made with cut up hot dogs or cocktail wieners, brown sugar, whiskey, and tangy ketchup! Serve these little dogs with toothpicks.

Steps:
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, whiskey and cocktail wieners. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.

HOT DOGS COOKED IN BEER
Be it vegan, turkey, beef, pork, sausage links give it a try. For those that don't like the Chard dogs with grill marks. Or you can pre simmer them and then grill them. I myself like grilled but my Dad prefers boiled dogs so I'm posting for him a kicked up version using beer in place of water.

- .boil beer and water add hot dogs and seasonings cook until done.
- use hot dogs of your choice i chose nathans.
SWEET BEER-SIMMERED HOT DOG BITES
Steps:
- Put all ingredients in a large saucepan and gently mix. Cover and put on low heat. Simmer slowly for about 45 minutes or until hot dog pieces are plumped up and sauce has slightly thickened. This can also be done in a slow cooker.
- Serve in a chafing dish or other dish that can be kept warm, with toothpicks close by.

- For sauerkraut:
- Simmer sauerkraut, beer, and sugar in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat 5 minutes. Season with pepper.
- For hot dogs:
- Bring beer and sugar to simmer in medium skillet over medium-low heat. Add hot dogs; simmer until dogs plump and beer syrup coats lightly, about 8 minutes. Transfer dogs to grill; reserve syrup. Top each bun with grilled hot dog and sauerkraut; drizzle with reserved beer syrup. Serve with mustard.

- 1. Cut small slits in each hot dog at an angle, about 1/2 inch deep. Place hot dogs in a large cup add beer. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes or more.
- 2. To prepare foil packets, take two large pieces of heavy-duty aluminum foil. In one, place the onions and peppers. In the other, place the mushrooms, bacon and garlic. Drizzle olive oil over both and season with salt and pepper. Fold the short ends together, folding to seal, then fold in the sides to seal. Make sure to leave some room to steam.
- 4. Place hot dogs and foil packets on grill. Grill hot dogs 5-10 minutes, until nicely charred and slits open up. Cook foil packets for around 20 minutes total, moving to center of grill once hot dogs are done and turning heat to high.
