BIRDSEED BREAD
OK, not birdseed really. Just reminds me of it. We love this for it's nutty flavor. It is a very substancial bread and makes a great piece of toast. I use 1 more T of millet and sunflowerseeds each and use rolled 6 grain instead of oats for us.

Steps:
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and 1/2 T sugar.
- Add salt, honey, margarine, and buttermilk.
- Then add all seeds, corn meal, and rolled oats. Then whole wheat flour and oat flour.
- While its mixing slowly add the bread flour. You may need more or less of the bread flour, just enough till nice and elastic. Knead well by hand or with mixer.
- Place in a sprayed bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise till doubled. This is a heavy bread and may take awhile, placing in a warm place will aid this.
- Punch down and divide in 1/2.
- Shape into loaves and place in greased pans, cover, and allow to rise till doubled again.
- Bake in 375 preheated oven for 30 minutes or till tops are browned and bottom sounds hollow when tapped.

I love this one, I can use one of my bread recipes or frozen store bought bread dough to make it...I have been wanting to make this for a while and now it is time I can do it for our winter birds I like to have variety for them...I ran across this on line...I'm even going to put cranberries in the bread...they love berries...Great for class projects or Sunday School Projects...

Steps:
- 1. If you enjoy birds and birdwatching, here's an easy way to make a bird seed wreath as a treat for the birds in your neighborhood, and to supplement your regular feeders.
- 2. You can start by making up a batch of bread dough or you can use a one pound frozen bread dough.
- 3. Roll your dough into a rope about 30 inches long. Cut the dough lengthwise into three strands and braid them together and place them on a greased cookie pan. You can grease the outside of a round cake pan and use it as a form - although it works just fine without too.
- 4. Cover with a tea towel and let rise until doubled. Preheat your oven to 375*
- 5. Bake your wreath for about 20 minutes. Then brush with whisked egg, cover with wild bird seed, and bake for another 10 minutes.
- 6. Let dry uncovered for 24 hours. Then hang it outside where the birds can enjoy their Christmas present.
