BLACK COW

Steps:

• Drizzle the chocolate sauce or syrup into the bottom of a large ice cream soda or pint glass. Add half of the root beer and mix well with a long spoon.
• Add 1 scoop of ice cream, then top off the glass with the remaining root beer. Traditionally, the remaining scoop of ice cream is balanced on the rim of the glass-press it down firmly so it doesn't plop into the table or swan dive into the float-although you could just plunk it in the root beer.

BLACK COW ICE CREAM

Steps:

• Place the condensed milk into a medium saucepan. Measure then sift the cocoa into the condensed milk. Whisk the two ingredients together and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and slightly thickened, about ten minutes. Remove from heat. Immediately break the 2 ounces of bittersweet chocolate into pieces and whisk into the hot milk mixture until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
• In a large measuring cup, gently mix together the creams and the extracts. Take the chill off by putting mixture into the microwave for up to one minute.
• Using a slow and steady motion, drizzle the cream mixture into the chocolate mixture. Whisk the mixtures together as you are drizzling. Be sure to loosen any mixture from the edges and corners of the pan using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon. Whisk until smooth. Pour through a sieve into a clean bowl, discard any bits left in the sieve.
• Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold. Process the cold mixture in your ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.

Steps:

• Pour root beer over ice cream and chocolate syrup in a large glass. Garnish with whipped cream and maraschino cherry.

ORIGINAL BLACK COW

Steps:

• 1. Place syrup in a tall glass. Add coca-cola and cream; stir; add ice cream and serve with a straw.
• 2. Lavern & Shirley Drink Pour equal amounts of pepsi and milk in a tall glass- stir and drink.

BLACK COW ICE-CREAM SODA

Steps:

• Fill 2 tall glasses two thirds full with root beer and top each with a scoop of ice cream.
• Serve black cows with straws and long-handled spoons.

Steps:

• In a large drink cooler or punch bowl, mix together the milk and root beer. Serve in tall glasses.

Steps:

• Pour sarsaparilla in a 14-ounce collins glass, add ice cream and stir.

BASIC BLACK COW (OTHERWISE KNOWN AS COKE FLOAT)

Steps:

• 1. In a tall glass place three or four scoops ice cream, one at a time, alternating with pouring Coke over each scoop. Place a scoop of ice cream, pour a little Coke over it, and repeat until glass is full.
• 2. Be sure the Coke has been refrigerated and is very cold. This will make little ice crystals on the ice cream and make it all the more yummy! Enjoy!
