Steps:
- 1. Heat oil in Dutch oven, add garlic, and cook for 2 minutes over medium heat.
- 2. Meanwhile, chop boiled cabbage into bite sized pieces.
- 3. Mix seasonings with cabbage in a large bowl. Add cabbage mixture to Dutch oven and cook for about a minute.
- 4. Add chicken broth and stir until it simmers. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.

- Fry bacon and sausage in a large skillet about 15 min., add onions; saute until onions are wilted.
- Add chopped, drained cabbage stir frequently, add sugar and seasonings, simmer until cabbage reaches desired texture.
- Stir in butter right before serving.
- Serve as a side dish or over rice.

- In a skillet, cook the beef, green pepper, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, seasonings and hot sauce. , Spread into an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with the cabbage and cheese. Cover and bake at 350° for 65-75 minutes or until the rice is tender. If desired, garnish with basil.

CAJUN CABBAGE
I went looking for a Cajun or Creole cabbage recipe. I found one similar to this & changed it up a bit. This is excruciatingly simple & easy. The results are buttery, spicy, delicious cabbage! And practically nothing to clean up! What more could anyone ask for??

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 400F. Tear off 4 sheets of foil.
- 2. Trim cabbage & cut into fourths. Put each piece of a sheet of foil.
- 3. Drizzle each with approximately 1/2 TB oil then sprinkle with approximately 1 tsp cajun seasoning.
- 4. Close up foil tightly. Put all 4 on the baking sheet. Put in oven & roast about 30 minutes.
- 5. Unwrap & serve! (ps. there's nearly no cleanup!)
SPICY CAJUN CABBAGE
For the record, I plain love cabbage. But even with my high expectations of this dish, it was still a pleasant surprise! The mixture of the seasonings is spot on and the bacon was the perfect finishing touch. I would serve this tasty side to anyone I liked any day of the week!

- 1. Cook bacon and set aside.
- 2. Cook chopped green onions in bacon grease for 4 minutes.
- 3. Add Cabbage and water, cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.
- 4. Mix all spices in a small bowl.
- 5. Add spice mixture to cabbage and cook for 15 more minutes or until desired doneness.
- 6. Crumble bacon on top before serving.
