CARAMEL BARS
Yummy oat bars filled with a gooey layer of caramel, chocolate and nuts!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt together the caramels and heavy cream, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir in the melted butter until well blended. Press Half of the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan. Reserve the rest.
- Bake the crust for 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove and sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Pour the caramel mixture over the top and then crumble the remaining crust mixture over everything.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 12 minutes, or until the top is lightly toasted. Cut into squares while it is still warm.

Steps:
- Press half of oatmeal mixture into a 9 x 13 pan Bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle on enough chocolate chips to cover.
- Then top with caramel mixture, then remaining oatmeal mixture.
- Bake another 15-18 minutes.
- Cool and cut.

- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat butter, uncovered, on high for 20-30 seconds or until softened. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt; stir into butter until blended. , Set a third of the mixture aside for topping. Press remaining mixture onto the bottom of an 8-in. square microwave-safe dish. Cook, uncovered, on high for 1-2 minutes or until crust is raised and set (crust will be uneven), rotating a half turn after each minute. , In a 1-qt. microwave-safe dish, heat the caramels and milk, uncovered, on high for 1 minute or until melted and smooth, stirring every minute. Sprinkle chips and nuts if desired over crust. Pour caramel mixture over all. , Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture; press down lightly. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until the caramel is bubbly, rotating a quarter turn every minute. Cool before cutting.

CARAMEL OAT BARS RECIPE

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt together. Add in melted butter and mix until completely combined. Press half the mixture into the bottom of a greased 8 x 8" pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- While baking, mix together heavy cream and soft caramels in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir it for about 5 minutes (or until smooth), and then remove from heat.
- Remove the pan from the oven, and pour melted caramel over top.
- Top the caramel with chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top of the caramel.
- Return to the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bars start to turn a golden brown.
- Serve warm (they'll be gooey and delicious) or you can also refrigerate them.

- Grease a baking tin approximatly 30x18cm. Preheat oven to 180c/350f/gas mark 5.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Stir in the oats,sieved flour and water to form a stiff mixture and press into the tin.
- Bake in the oven for twenty minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter,condensed milk and brown sugar in a pan. Boil for 5 mins strirring continuosly. Por evenly over the cooked base and allow to cool.
- Melt the chocolate in a bowl over water in a suacepan at a low heat. Pour this over the caramel mixture and allow to cool
- Once completely cooled. Cut into chunky slices.

- To a saucepan over low heat, add the caramels and milk; cook and stir constantly, until caramels melt; set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, and salt; stir to combine.

- Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and melted butter. Mix until well combined and has a crumbly consistency.
- Line a 9x13 (22 x 33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper and lightly coat with a nonstick spray.
- Pour about ½ of the oat mixture into the pan and press with the back of a spoon or spatula until it's nice and compact. Save the other ½ of the oat mixture for later.
- Pour two cups (350 grams) of chocolate chips over the oat mixture and spread them out evenly. Save the ½ cup (85 grams) for the top.
- In a saucepan, melt the soft caramels, and the heavy cream until it becomes a smooth.
- Pour melted caramel over the chocolate chips and oat mixture. Carefully spread the caramel until it covers the chocolate.
- Pour the rest of the oat mixture over the caramel and spread out evenly.
- Add the other ½ cup of chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust has turned a golden brown. (Times and temperatures may vary from oven to oven). Allow to cool COMPLETELY before cutting into bars.
