1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
1 teaspoon salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon pepper, divided
8 large eggs
1/2 cup water
1 cup shredded Havarti cheese
12 dinner rolls, split
12 tomato slices
Optional: Ketchup, sliced onion and pickle slices

Steps:

  • Combine beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into twelve 2-in. patties. In a large skillet, cook burgers over medium heat until cooked through, 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat; keep warm., Whisk together eggs, water and the remaining salt and pepper. Place a small nonstick skillet, lightly oiled, over medium-high heat; pour in 1/2 cup egg mixture. Mixture should set immediately at edges. As eggs set, push cooked edges toward the center, letting uncooked eggs flow underneath. When eggs are thickened and no liquid egg remains, sprinkle 1/3 cup cheese on 1 half. Top cheese with 3 burgers, spacing them evenly; fold omelet in half. Slide onto a cutting board; tent with foil to keep warm. Repeat to make 3 more omelets., To serve, cut each omelet into 3 wedges; place each wedge on a roll. Add tomatoes and, if desired, ketchup, onion and pickles.

3 eggs
1 tablespoon milk, or as needed
salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup shredded Emmentaler cheese

Steps:

  • Beat eggs in a bowl with a whisk. Add milk and season with salt and white pepper. Whisk for a few minutes until egg mixture is foamy; beating in air makes the omelette fluffy.
  • Melt butter in a small, nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Pour in egg mixture and twirl skillet so bottom is evenly covered with egg. Cook for 1 minute until egg starts to set. Lift edges with a spatula and tilt the skillet so uncooked egg mixture can run towards the bottom of the skillet to set. Repeat until no visible liquid egg remains.
  • Carefully flip omelette and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute. Sprinkle Emmentaler cheese in one line in the middle of the omelette and fold omelette in half. Cook for 20 seconds, then slide omelette onto plate.

Olive oil, for brushing the grill
2 pounds ground sirloin
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
A few dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
8 fresh jalapenos
4 burger buns or kaiser rolls
For serving: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce leaves. tomato slices and onion rings

Steps:

  • Prepare a grill for medium-high heat. Brush the grill with olive oil.
  • Put the sirloin, Cheddar, salt, pepper and hot sauce in a bowl and mix. Form into four 8-ounce patties. Grill the patties for 3 to 4 minutes, then flip and grill until cooked to desired doneness, another 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Meantime, grill the whole jalapenos for a few minutes until blackened. Grill the burger buns until lightly toasted.
  • Transfer the burgers to the buns. Serve with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, onion rings and the grilled jalapenos on the side for everyone to assemble their own burgers.

3/4 cup very thinly sliced sweet onion
1 tablespoon margarine
1/2 teaspoon caraway seed (optional)
4 Grillers Prime® Veggie Burgers or Grillers® Vegan Veggie Burgers
1 tablespoon brown mustard or Dijon mustard
2 ounces thinly-sliced Gruyere cheese, Swiss cheese, or soy cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Cook onion in hot margarine in nonstick frypan over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, for 14 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir in caraway seed, if desired.
  • 2. Meanwhile, place patties on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes. Turn patties. Bake 7 minutes more. Spread mustard on top of patties. Top with cheese. Bake for 1 to 2 minutes more or until cheese melts.
  • 3. Spoon onion over top of patties.
  • ON THE GRILL:
  • Preheat grill
  • Use a food thermometer to be sure patties reach minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  • Helpful Hints: This recipe slowly sautes the onion to intensify the flavors of its natural sugars. Watch the onion carefully and stir frequently to avoid burning and off-flavors.

Fill bread rolls with chilli jam and chunky wedges of cheddar and pea omelette for a quick yet substantial vegetarian burger

1 tbsp olive or rapeseed oil
8 large eggs , beaten
200g frozen peas
85g mature cheddar , grated
4 large burger buns , toasted
4 tbsp onion chutney or chilli jam
handful salad leaves (we used rocket), to serve
slices of tomato (optional), to serve
sweet potato wedges (optional), to serve

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan (roughy 20cm wide) and heat the grill to high. Season the eggs and add to the pan along with the peas. Quickly mix, then leave for 8 mins over a low-medium heat until the underside is set and just turning golden. Scatter over the cheese and grill for 3 mins until the surface is set and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Meanwhile, spread each burger bun with chutney or chilli jam. Cut the omelette into 4 wedges and sandwich between the buns, add a handful of leaves and a few slices of tomato, and serve with sweet potato wedges, if you like.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
12 ounces frozen oven chips (about)
5 ounces grated cheddar cheese
8 medium eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill to high.
  • Heat the oil over a highish heat in a large frying pan and throw in the chips.
  • Fry for 10 minutes, tossing occasionally until they have completely defrosted and turned crisp and golden.
  • Beat the eggs in a bowl with a third of the cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour over the chips in the frypan and lower the heat.
  • Cook the eggs, rippling the sides into the middle every time they begin to set, until only the top and middle are runny.
  • Scatter the remaining cheese on top and place the pan under the grill for 3 to 4 minutes, until the cheese is brown and bubbling and the eggs have souffled up.
  • Serve in wedges with lots of salad.

2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons garlic powder, divided
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
1/2 cup butter, softened
6 slices provolone cheese
6 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 jar (14 ounces) spaghetti sauce, warmed

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine beef and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Shape into six thin patties. Pan-fry until no longer pink. Meanwhile, cut bread in half lengthwise. Combine butter and remaining garlic powder; spread over cut sides of bread. On the bottom half, layer provolone cheese, beef patties and the mozzarella cheese. Replace bread top. Wrap in a large piece of heavy-duty foil (about 28 in. x 18 in.). Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and sandwich is heated through. Cut loaf between each patty. Serve with spaghetti sauce for dipping.
