This is a very good recipe from a neighbor, and it is requested often. Fresh or frozen cherries may be used in this recipe.

Steps:
- Mix 3/4 cup sugar, butter or margarine, flour, salt, baking powder, and milk together. Place cherries in the bottom of a 9 inch square pan. Spread dough over cherries.
- In a small bowl, combine 1 cup sugar and cornstarch. Stir in boiling water. Pour mixture over the dough.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes. Serve warm.

CHERRY COBBLER CAKE
Sour and sweet cherries baked into a delicious cake, best served warm with ice cream.

Steps:
- Cream 1/2 cup sugar (1/4 cup Truvia) and butter together. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda and add to creamed mixture. Mix in milk and vanilla. Spread in buttered 8 x 8 baking dish.
- In a bowl mix fruit with 1 cup sugar, pour in 1 cup juice (from the can). Cover batter with fruit mixture in baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.
CHERRY COBBLER WITH CAKE MIX
Looking to make a cake mix cherry cobbler, but want to do it without pie filling? My lighter version substitutes fresh or frozen cherries instead of pie filling and uses a sugar-free cake mix. The flavor is incredible in this cherry cobbler with cake mix!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium baking dish, add the fresh or frozen cherries. If cherries are frozen they do not have to be thawed. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add the dry cake mix. Pour in the melted butter and mix together with a fork until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the cake mix mixture evenly over the top of the cherries.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until top of crumble is golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm over vanilla ice cream. Refrigerate or freeze any leftovers.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line the inside of a Dutch oven with aluminum foil.
- Spread cherry pie filling in an even layer into the bottom of the Dutch oven. Sprinkle cake mix over the pie filling; top with a layer of brown sugar. Dot the top with butter pieces. Put lid on the Dutch oven.
- Bake in preheated oven until the top is golden brown, 45 to 90 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C). Place butter or margarine in a 9x13 inch baking dish and set on oven rack to melt.
- In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk.
- Remove baking dish from oven as soon as butter or margarine is melted. Pour flour mixture into dish, but DO NOT STIR. Pour fruit evenly into pan, and DO NOT STIR.

- Drain cherries, reserving 1-1/4 cups juice; set aside. Discard remaining juice. In a large saucepan, combine the sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg; stir in lemon juice and reserved cherry juice until smooth. Bring to a boil. - Combine cake mix, eggs, water and oil in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes.

BEST CHERRY COBBLER
I love this simple cherry cobbler so much that I used to ask for it on my birthday instead of a birthday cake. Everyone I've ever made it for have loved it. My mom taught me the recipe and I've played around with it only a little (by cutting down the sugar slightly or using a different pie filling.)

- Melt butter in casserole dish (or the dish you use to bake the cobbler).
- In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, flour, and sugar.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. In 2-quart saucepan, cook cherries and 3/4 cup sugar over medium heat 5 minutes. Mix cornstarch, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; stir into cherry mixture. Heat to boiling. Boil 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
