Steps:

• 1 In 1-quart wide-mouth glass jar, gently layer and pack ingredients in order listed, beginning with milk chocolate chips. If there is any space left after adding the last ingredient, add more semisweet chocolate chips to fill the jar. Place lid on top. 2 Cut an 8-inch circle of fabric to cover lid. Place fabric over lid; secure in place with ribbon or raffia. Decorate as desired. 3 Make a gift card to attach as follows: "Empty contents of jar into medium bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted; 1 large egg; and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Press into an 8x8x2-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray. • In a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar, layer dark brown sugar, white sugar, cocoa, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips. Pack everything down firmly before you add flour mixture, it will be a snug fit.
• Attach a tag with the following instructions: Chocolate Cookie Mix in a Jar: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) 2. Empty cookie mix into large bowl. Thoroughly blend mixture with hands. Mix in 3/4 cup softened butter or margarine, 1 egg, slightly beaten, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Shape into walnut size balls, and place 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet. 3. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet, then move to wire racks.

• Cream butter, both sugars, and egg; add vanilla and water.

• Spread in a greased 9x12 pan (9x13 will make them a little thinner).
• Bake 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes till done; cool in pan; cut in 2" squares.

• In a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient.

• 1 teaspoon baking powder.
• 1 teaspoon baking soda.

• Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Place flour mixture in 1-quart jar. Layer morsels, brown sugar and granulated sugar in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer. Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.
• RECIPE TO ATTACH: Preheat oven to 375° F. Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional); mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES IN A JAR MIX

Steps:

• Combine flour, soda, and powder.
• Place in a 1 quart jar.
• Layer remaining ingredients pressing firmly after each layer.
• Recipe to attach to jar:.
• Preheat oven to 375°F.
• Beat 12 tablespoons softened unsalted butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Place cookie mix in an other bowl and mix to combine ingredients. Add butter mixture and blend in to smooth any clumps. Drop tablespoon full onto ungreased pan and bake 9-11 minutes.
• Cool on pan then remove to rack to completely cool.
