This dressed up cookie is a sweet addition to any Valentine bundle. Feel free to decorate any way you like with assorted sprinkles and little sugar hearts.

1 (14 ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)
12 ounces red candy melts
multicolored sprinkles (jimmies)

Steps:

  • Place candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave for 30 seconds more. Stir. Repeat process until candy melts are completely liquid.
  • Dip sandwich cookies into the melted candy melts - feel free to coat only half of the cookie, or coat all sides. Place red cookies on a plate lined with wax paper.
  • Decorate with assorted sprinkles. Allow to harden before removing to serve.

These festive green candy-coated Oreos® could hardly be any easier to make! They're great for a St. Patrick's Day party or an afternoon snack.

4 ounces green confectioners' coating (such as green Wilton Candy Melts®)
16 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)
1 tablespoon green and white nonpareils sprinkles

Steps:

  • Place green confectioners' coating in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir constantly, scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching, until melted, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Dip cookies, one at a time, 2/3 of the way into the melted candy, then place on wax paper.
  • Sprinkle the nonpareils on top of the wet candy before the candy coating dries. You might need to work in batches so you can add the sprinkles before the first cookies have dried. Allow the candy coating to dry and harden before serving.

  • Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate wafers at 50% power in 30 second intervals; stir between each interval and continue until the chocolate is melted. Reduce microwave time as needed so the chocolate does not burn.
  • Place the Oreo in the bowl of chocolate and use a fork to flip the Oreo around until it’s completely covered. Use the fork to lift the Oreo out of the chocolate, tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate and scrape the bottom of the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove additional chocolate. Place on a piece of parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  • Chocolate wafers tend to set quickly, so if you’d like to add sprinkles or other toppings, then it’s best to do so right away. Or you can add a chocolate drizzle and then add sprinkles to the drizzle.
  • Wait until the chocolate has fully set, then apply the drizzle with leftover melted chocolate. Do this by filling a small piping bag or Ziploc bag with 2-3 tablespoons of melted chocolate and cut off the tip/corner of the bag. Drizzle and allow to set. I recommend drizzling it off the sides of the Oreo for the best look.
