Chocolate Soda Or Float Fountain Style Lightened Recipes

OLD TIMEY CHOCOLATE SODA

Steps:

• In four 16-ounce glasses, squirt 1 tablespoon of the chocolate syrup in the bottom of the glasses. Scoop out 2 scoops of ice cream in each and top with another tablespoon of the chocolate syrup. Fill each glass with club soda, and top with whipped cream and a cherry.

CHOCOLATE FLOAT

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place 1 cup of sugar and 2 cups water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
• In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk so the batter does not become too stiff. Stir in vanilla.
• Pour the sugar water into a 2 quart casserole dish. Drop the chocolate mixture by spoonfuls into the sugar syrup to make dumplings.
• Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Use a slotted spoon to remove dumplings to plates, spoon syrup over and serve.

OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE SODA

Steps:

• For each serving, place 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup in a 16-oz. glass. Stir in 1 tablespoon of whipped cream and 1-1/4 cups water until foamy. Add two scoops of ice cream. Top with additional whipped cream if desired.

CHOCOLATE SODA OR FLOAT (FOUNTAIN STYLE & LIGHTENED)

Steps:

• In a tall glass, start by placing 1 lrg scoop of frozen vanilla yogurt & drizzle 2 tbsp chocolate syrup over it. Repeat the same process w/the 2nd scoop of frozen yogurt.
• Fill the glass by slowly pouring Club Soda, Tonic Water or Sprite Zero over the yogurt & chocolate syrup (I use Sprite Zero). Serve w/a long-handled spoon & enjoy!
• NOTE: For those of you able to ignore "hip health" & who want to dress this up a bit, feel free to top w/a dollop of whipped cream & even add some chocolate shavings as options, but it's a treat for me w/o them.

SODA FOUNTAIN "FLOAT "

Steps:

• Sprinkle gelatine over 1 cup of the root beer in medium saucepan; let stand 1 min. Cook on low heat 5 min. or until gelatine is completely dissolved, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
• Add 1 cup of the whipped topping; stir with wire whisk until well blended. Add remaining 2-1/2 cups root beer; stir. Pour into 6 (8-oz.) parfait glasses, distributing foam evenly among glasses.
• Refrigerate 2 hours or until set. Top evenly with the remaining 1/2 cup whipped topping and the cherries just before serving.

FOUNTAIN-STYLE VANILLA MALT SHAKE

Steps:

• In a blender mix together milk, ginger ale, malted milk powder and vanilla for a few seconds just to combine.
• Add in vanilla ice cream and blend until smooth.
• Pour into large tall chilled glass/s with a long straw.
• Delicious!
