- In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onions in oil about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
- Stir in parsley and cream cheese until smooth. Spoon into small bowl. Serve warm or cold with cocktail bread.

CARAMELIZED ONION DIP
Steps:
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a heavy medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onions and sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until soft and golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt. Stir in the vinegar and simmer until the mixture is dry. Add the hot sauce if using. Remove the mixture from the heat and allow the onions to cool slightly.
- Mix the cream cheese until smooth in a large bowl. Fold in the sour cream and caramelized onions. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chives if using. Can be eaten warm or transferred to the refrigerator to be eaten cold.

- In a small skillet, saute onion in oil for 1 minute. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook for 8 minutes or until onion begins to turn golden brown. Add the green onions, salt, pepper and cayenne. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Remove from the heat; cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes., Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise and cream cheese until smooth. Stir in onion mixture. Garnish with additional green onions. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve with breadsticks and peppers.
