1 pound linguine
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter, cubed
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup clam juice
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3 cans (6-1/2 ounces each) minced clams, drained
1/2 cup minced fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon chipotle hot pepper sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook linguine according to package directions. , Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, saute onion in butter and oil. Add garlic; saute for 1-2 minutes longer. Stir in flour until blended; gradually add the broth, clam juice and cream. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. , Add the clams and seasonings; cook and stir for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Drain linguine. Add pasta and cheese to sauce; toss to coat.

1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 ¼ pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 splash dry white wine
1 cup heavy whipping cream
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes.
  • While spaghetti is cooking, heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic until soft, but not brown, about 1 minute. Add shrimp and cook until opaque, about 3 minutes. Add wine, reduce heat, and pour in cream. Simmer until sauce starts to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in basil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Drain spaghetti and spoon creamy shrimp on top. Serve with Parmesan cheese.

4 oz fettuccine pasta
3/4 lb raw shrimp, peeled, deveined and tails removed
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and toss to combine. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon flour over the shrimp, and toss to coat the shrimp. Sprinkle 1 more tablespoon flour and toss to evenly coat the shrimp.
  • Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. When hot, add the shrimp in a single layer and cook on each side, flipping once, until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Remove to plate.
  • Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, whisking the bottom of the pan to deglaze. Reduce heat to medium and pour in cream, whisking constantly. Cook sauce over medium heat until bubbly and the cream starts to thicken the mixture, about 5 minutes.
  • Taste the sauce and add seasonings as desired (salt, pepper, cajun seasonings, etc.) Add the drained pasta and shrimp to the sauce, and stir to combine.

2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
½ cup white wine
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf
1 (16 ounce) package uncooked spaghetti
1 pound clams
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 pound shrimp
1 pound scallops
1 clove garlic, minced

Steps:

  • Heat 2 teaspoons olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat, and cook the onion and garlic until tender. Mix in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, sugar, salt, oregano, red pepper, and bay leaf. Simmer uncovered 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Place spaghetti in the pot, cook 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  • Place the clams in a pot fitted with a steamer basket over boiling water, and steam until opened. Discard clams that do not open. Stir into the sauce.

Take white clam sauce to the next level! This creamy and easy-to-make dinner will impress guests, but it's quick enough to make as a weeknight meal!

1 10 oz can whole baby clams, undrained
4 large cloves garlic (minced)
1/4 tsp oregano
1 cup cream*
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper (I used white but black will do)
1 tbsp butter
4 tbsp finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley**
1 lb fettuccini cooked per package directions

Steps:

  • *Heavy cream is preferred, but half-and-half or light cream may be used but you'll probably have to thicken the sauce.
  • **Fresh parsley is highly recommended for the flavor. But if you don't have it, 2 tbs of the dehydrted from the jar will do in a pinch.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and let it saute for about 1-2 minutes. Don't let it brown.
  • Add the can of clams, including the liquor they are packed in.
  • Add the salt, pepper and oregano and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Continue cooking uncovered over medium heat until the liquid is reduced by about 25 % (about 10 minutes)
  • Reduce heat and stir in the cream--do let it boil.
  • If you used heavy cream, the sauce should be thick enough, but if you used half-and-half or light cream, you may have to thicken--
  • TO THICKEN IF DESIRED:
  • Mix 1 tbs of cornstarch in 2 tbs cold water and add to the sauce, stirring constantly over medium heat until mixture thickens, about 1 minute.
  • Serve over hot pasta and top each serving with 1 tbs of the finely chopped *fresh* parsley. (1/2 tbs each if using the dehydrated)

I suggest to increase the amount of clams, you can also increase the shrimp amount if desired. Linguine can be used in place of the shell pasta if desired, prep time does not include cooked pasta.

3 -4 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup)
1 -2 tablespoon fresh minced garlic (or to taste)

1 (28 ounce) can plum tomatoes (undrained, chopped)
1 (10 ounce) can baby clams (drained but save juice)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (more to garnish)
1 teaspoon anchovy paste
14 ounces large raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
12 -14 ounces cooked medium pasta shells
grated parmesan cheese (use any amount desired)

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a heavy large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add in onion, garlic, red pepper flakes and oregano; saute for about 3 minutes.
  • Add in the chopped tomatoes with juice, clam juice (add in the clams later) and about 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley and anchovy paste; stir to combine, then cook covered about 20 minutes.
  • Uncover and simmer for another 25-30 minutes, over medium-low heat stirring occasionally until the sauce has thickened (simmer uncovered).
  • Add in the reserved clams and uncooked shrimp; simmer until the shrimp is just cooked through (about 3 minutes).
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add in cooked pasta; toss to combine and warm.
  • Transfer to a large bowl and sprinkle with more chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese.

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
6 1/2 ounces clams (1 small can)
8 ounces angel hair pasta
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 green onions, sliced
4 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup white wine
2 -4 tablespoons Italian spices
8 ounces parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet and add garlic and onions. Reserve a couple of tablespoons of the green part of the onion for garnish. Saute until nearly done. Drain Clams well into a measuring cup. You should get 1/4 to 1/2 cup of juice. Add clam juice, chicken broth and wine to the skillet. Add italian seasonings and bring to a rolling boil. Boil until sauce has reduced somewhat approximately 5 minutes, reduce heat to simmer. Continue to cook while pasta is cooking. If sauce is not to desired thickness you can add some parmesan cheese to help thicken the sauce or a little cornstarch mixture. I like to add about1/4 cup parmesan to the sauce. Sauce should be somewhat thin. When pasta has approximately 4 minutes until it is completely finished, add in the clams and the shrimp. Cook only until shrimp turns pink. Cover and set aside.
  • PASTA:
  • Prepare pasta according to directions. When finished rinsed lightly. You will want the pasta to retain some heat. Add 2 tablespoons butter which has been broken into smaller pieces, 2 tablespoons Italian seasonings and 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Blend well and cover.
  • SERVE:.
  • Divide pasta onto 4 dinner plates and top with sauce mixture, topping with parmesan cheese and a bit of reserved green onions.
  • NOTES: If you like a lot of sauce with your pasta you can increase the sauce mixture to desired amount.

  • Wash clams under cold water. Throw away any cracked or open clams. Keep clams soaking in cold water until ready to use.
  • In a large pan (one that comes with a lid), heat the butter over medium high heat. Add the diced onion, and garlic. Saute for a few minutes, until the onion has softened but not turned brown. Allow clams to steam 7-8 minutes, then remove the pan from the heat and throw away any clams which have not opened up. Remove the other clams and keep them aside, leaving the liquid in the pan.
