Creamy Crab Dip With Cream Cheese image

This easy cold crab dip is a creamy mixture of cream cheese, canned or fresh crabmeat, and mayonnaise. It's simple and delicious.

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese (softened)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash cayenne pepper (or Tabasco sauce, to taste)
1 (6-ounce) can crabmeat (drained, cartilage removed, finely chopped)
Garnish: 1 pinch Old Bay seasoning (optional)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, milk, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce, to taste. Blend well.
  • Gently fold in the chopped crabmeat.
  • Cover and refrigerate the crab dip until it is thoroughly chilled.
  • If desired, sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning. Serve chilled.

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons white wine or chicken broth
2 tablespoons grated onion
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 cup lump crabmeat, drained
4 tablespoons minced fresh parsley, divided
1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Paprika
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a large heavy saucepan over low heat, combine the first nine ingredients. Cook and stir until cream cheese is melted and mixture is heated through. Stir in crab and 2 tablespoons parsley; heat through. , Transfer to a serving bowl; sprinkle with almonds, paprika and remaining parsley. Serve warm with crackers. Refrigerate leftovers.

1 small spring onion, very finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon trident red curry paste
170 g crabmeat, drained
1 teaspoon trident stir-fry fish sauce
1 egg, beaten
rice crackers or biscuit, to serve

Steps:

  • Mix the Trident Coconut Cream, spring onion and Trident Red Curry Paste in a small saucepan and boil until well reduced and thick.
  • Add the crabmeat and Trident Stir-Fry Fish Sauce and stir. Cook for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in 1 beaten egg and cook gently for 20 seconds. Then set aside to cool.
  • Spoon into a bowl and serve with Trident Rice Crackers.

  • in a 9 inch pie plate, mix neufchatel, crab, mayonnaise, onion, mustard,and worcestershire.

1 lb crabmeat
1 stalk lemongrass, white part only,flattened with cleaver and finely chopped
3 fresh red chilies, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons half-and-half
1 teaspoon cornstarch
vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
4 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon red curry paste
1 can unsweetened coconut milk
1 tablespoon light soy sauce

Steps:

  • Mix crab meat with lemongrass, chilies, cilantro, and egg yolk, mixing well.
  • Mix the half and half with cornstarch and heat, stirring, until thickened, and mix into crab meat mixture.
  • Shape the crab into about 20 meatballs, squeezing to get out excess liquid and retain the best shape; place on plate and refrigerate 1/2 hour to firm up (you can do this up to 12 hours in advance).
  • To make the dip, heat the sesame oil in a saucepan, add the green onion, then the curry paste; stir fry for a minute or so before adding the coconut milk.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes or until it reduces about 1/2 and gets fairly thick.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, then set aside to cool.
  • Heat deep-fryer to 350 degrees and cook crab bites in batches, about 3-4 minutes or until nicely browned, then drain on paper toweling.
  • Serve warm with the curry dip.
  • The crab bites can be made in advance, and reheated in the oven at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes.
