I have been making this recipe since 1997. It is always a big hit with the family. I serve it with salad & garlic bread. Can be made in the morning & refrigerated. Also reheats well in the microwave. Recipe by: Mops (Mothers of Preschoolers) Cookbook. Posted to TNT Recipes on Nov, 4, 1997. Prodigys Recipe Exchange Newsletter by Mrs. Lynn P Thomas 1998. There are many recipes with the same name (extra ingredients) or with a name change. No credit is ever given. After researching this recipe I do believe that this is the original.

Ingredients

8 ounces fine egg noodles
16 ounces stewed tomatoes
8 ounces tomato sauce
2 teaspoons meat seasoning
3/4 cup green onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
2 teaspoons salt
3 ounces cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons sugar

Steps:

Cook noodles according to package directions.
Brown ground beef. Drain beef and add the next 7 ingredients.
In a medium size bowl, mix sour cream, onions, and cream cheese.
Mix beef mixture with sour cream mixture.
Combine with noodles in a 9 X 13 inch casserole dish. Cover with cheddar cheese.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Notes:I used 12 oz. noodles, eliminated meat seasoning, 3 cloves of garlic to the meat while cooking instead of powder.
