DOLLY PARTON'S SUGAR COOKIES

Steps:

• Cream sugar and butter together in a large bowl, beating until well incorporated.
• Add the egg yolks and lemon zest. Beat until well mixed.
• Sift the flour over the wet ingredients, and mix just until combined.
• Knead together very gently until it forms enough of a ball to plop onto a piece of plastic wrap. Work the dough just enough to get it to stick together, but be careful not to overdo it. Honestly, I get so paranoid about overworking the dough that I pile the crumbs onto the plastic wrap, fold it up around the mound, and press it together that way.
• Completely wrap the dough with the plastic wrap.
• Chill dough for three hours.
• Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Roll out dough - I go as thin as 1/8 inch, but I prefer about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes, adding additional flour as necessary to avoid sticking.
• Place cookie shapes on a cookie sheet (no need to grease) and bake for about 8 minutes, just until the cookies start to turn pinky beige around the edges.
• Let cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet, then move to wire rack to cool completely.
• Eat plain or decorate with sugar cookie icing.

ONE DOUGH, TWO COOKIES

Steps:

• Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl and set aside.
• Cream together the brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar in a stand mixer, scraping the bowl once while mixing. Add the eggs 1 at a time, mixing, then add the vanilla. Add the flour mixture in increments, mixing gently after each addition. Scrape the bowl once and mix again. Divide the dough in half. Fold the chocolate chips and pecans into half the dough and the cherries and lime zest into the other half.
• Spoon each portion of dough onto a long piece of plastic wrap. Carefully roll the dough inside the wrap, pressing gently to get it to form into a firm cylinder. Use immediately or freeze until ready to bake.
• When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
• Slice off as many cookies as you'd like and lay the slices on a baking sheet. (The thicker the slices, the farther apart the cookies need to be. They bake up flat.) Bake the cookies until nice and golden brown, about 10 minutes. Cool on a rack and serve.

CRISP SUGAR DOILY COOKIES

Steps:

• Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Cream butter and sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla, until just combined. Reduce speed to low, and slowly add flour mixture, beating until just combined. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes (or up to 2 days).
• Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut dough in half. On lightly floured parchment, roll out each piece slightly thicker than 1/8 inch. Using scallop-edged or fluted cutters, cut out cookies, and place on a baking sheet 1 inch apart. Freeze until firm, about 10 minutes.
• Remove from freezer, and cut out doily patterns in centers of cookies using aspic cutters; discard scraps. (If dough softens, return to freezer until firm.) Bake until edges begin to turn golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.

HELLO DOLLY COOKIES

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 x 9 inch baking pan.
• In a medium bowl, combine graham crackers, chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut.
• Pour melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir. Press into prepared baking pan. Drizzle the condensed milk over the top.
• Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until lightly colored on top. Let cool before cutting into bars.

DOLLY PARTON SUGAR COOKIES

Steps:

• Cream sugar and butter in a medium-size bowl.
• Beat in eggs, then flour and lemon peel. Knead gently together. Don't overwork the dough, but make sure it's consistent.
• Chill dough for 3 hours.
• Preheat oven to 350'F.
• Roll out dough with rolling pin.
• Cut into shapes and place on greased cookie sheets.
• Bake until tops get pinkish-brown, about 8 minutes.

DOLLY PARTON'S DUMP CAKE

Steps:

• Grease and flour a 9 by 13" cake pan.
• Put the dry yellow cake mix at the bottom.
• Pour the can of crushed pineapple with juice over the cake mix.
• Next, spoon the can of cherry pie filling over that, followed by the can of blueberry pie filling.
• Thinly slice 1 stick of butter and put the slices over the top of the other ingredients (I melted mine and poured it over the top).
• Bake the cake at 325 for 45 minutes, or until done.
• Let rest for 20 minutes before serving.
• This is best served warm.
