1 cup Duke's Mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped dill pickles or sweet relish
1 tsp. capers, chopped
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
2 tsp. chopped shallots
2 Tbsp. chopped scallions
2 tsp. lemon juice
Tabasco sauce to taste, optional
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl an chill in refrigerator. This will not last as long as a store bought tartar sauce.

3 ½ tablespoons dill pickle relish, divided
1 ½ teaspoons capers
2 tablespoons chopped onion, divided
½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon white sugar

Steps:

  • Blend mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons relish, capers, 1 tablespoon chopped onion, parsley, and sugar in a blender until smooth. Stir remaining relish and onion into the blended mixture.
  • Transfer sauce to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

2 tablespoons finely chopped dill pickles
2 tablespoons finely chopped sweet pickles
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon chopped capers
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
1 dash Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Mix mayonnaise, onion, dill pickles, sweet pickles, parsley, lemon juice, capers, mustard, hot pepper sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for flavors to meld, at least 2 hours.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet pickles, minced
2 tablespoons red onions, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon lemon zest
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
4 (6 -7 ounce) tilapia fillets
olive oil, for brushing
salt and pepper
1 -2 loaf French bread (depending on size)
2 medium tomatoes, cut into 8 slices
4 leaves romaine lettuce or 4 leaves lettuce, of choice

Steps:

  • For the tartar sauce: Combine the mayonnaise, pickles, onion, lemon juice, lemon zest and garlic powder in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Prepare a grill or preheat a broiler. If using a broiler, line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Brush the tilapia fillets with some olive oil and season them with the salt and black pepper. Cut the bread into 4 sections, then halve each section lengthwise.
  • Put the fish on the grill or, if broiling, transfer the fillets to the prepared baking sheet. Grill or broil, turning once, until the fish is cooked through, about 6 minutes. Lay the bread on the grill, cut side down, or broiler, cut side up, and grill or broil until toasted, about 1 minute.
  • For 1 sandwich, layer 1 tilapia fillet on the bottom slice of bread, followed by 2 slices of tomato and 1 lettuce leaf. Spread the top slice of bread with 2 tablespoons of the tartar sauce and cover the sandwich. Repeat with remaining bread and filling. Arrange on a serving platter and serve.
