DUTCH OVEN PEANUT BUTTER BACON CHOCOLATE BARS

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 package peanut butter cookie mix
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 heaping teaspoon creamy peanut butter
2 tbsp maple-flavored syrup
1 egg
12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ cup chopped peanuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Lightly oil or spray 12- inch dutch oven; line with parchment paper.
  • In large bowl, stir together cookie mix, oil, syrup, peanut butter, and egg until soft dough forms.
  • Reserve ¼ cup bacon for garnish. Stir remaining bacon and peanuts into dough.
  • Press dough evenly into parchment lined dutch oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips. Replace lid and cook for 3-5 minutes or until chocolate has melted. Immediately spread softened chocolate over bars with back of spoon.
  • Sprinkle reserved ¼ cup bacon over chocolate.
  • Cool for 30 minutes with lid removed before lifting from Dutch oven.
  • Wait until chocolate has set, before cutting into squares.

1 package (16 ounces) Nutter Butter cookies, divided
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 package (3.90 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
1-1/2 cups 2% milk
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, finely crush 24 of the cookies; stir in melted butter. Press onto the bottom of an ungreased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake until lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Cool completely., In a small bowl, whisk pudding mix and milk until smooth; spread over cooled crust. In another small bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar and peanut butter. Fold in 1 cup whipped topping. Spoon cream cheese mixture over pudding; gently spread to cover pudding. Spread remaining whipped topping over cream cheese layer. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. , Coarsely crush remaining 8 cookies. Sprinkle crushed cookies and chips over whipped topping before serving.

2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Dash salt
8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
FROSTING:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 to 4 tablespoons 2% milk
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-in. pan with parchment, letting ends extend up sides; grease paper., In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and butter until blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into sugar mixture. Fold in bacon., Spread into prepared pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Lifting with parchment, remove from pan. , For frosting, in a large bowl, beat peanut butter and butter until blended. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar, vanilla and enough milk to reach desired consistency. Frost blondies; sprinkle with bacon. Cut into bars. Refrigerate leftovers.

Steps:

  • 1. HEAT OVEN TO 350F. LIGHTLY SPRAY 9 INCH SQUARE PAN WITH COOKING SPRAY.
  • 2. IN A LARGE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER COOKIE MIX, OIL, SYRUP AND EGG UNTIL SOFT DOUGH FORMS. RESERVE 1/4 CUP BACON FOR GARNISH. STIR IN REMAINING BACON AND PEANUTS INTO DOUGH. PRESS EVENLY INTO PAN.
  • 3. BAKE 20-25 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. REMOVE FROM OVEN, SPRINKLE WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS. RETURN TO OVEN; BAKE 1 MINUTE. IMMEDIATELY SPREAD CHOCOLATE OVER BARS. SPRINKLE RESERVED BACON OVER CHOCOLATE. COOL COMPLETELY, ABOUT 1 HOUR OR UNTIL CHOCOLATE IS SET.
