Provided by Alyssa Rivers

Categories     Appetizer

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 rolls)
1 pound deli roast beef (or leftover sliced roast beef)
6 slices provolone cheese
4 Tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon dried onion flakes
1 package store-bought au jus gravy seasoning mix

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt 2 Tablespoons butter and pour in the bottom of a baking dish. Set aside to prepare the rolls.

  • Layer the provolone cheese on top of the rolls in the pan.
  • Next, generously layer the roast beef on top of the cheese.
  • Place the other half of the cut rolls on top of the sandwiches in the pan.
  • Melt the remaining 2 Tablespoons of butter in a microwavable dish. Once the butter is melted, stir in the garlic powder and dried onion flakes.
  • Brush the tops of the buns with the butter mixture.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the meat is warmed through.
  • Remove the foil and heat for 5 more minutes so the tops of the buns are slightly toasted.
  • Prepare the au jus sauce according to the package directions.
  • Cut the rolls into individual sliders and serve with the au jus sauce on the side.

Easy French Dip Sliders Recipe image

French Dip Sliders with tender pastrami beef, melty provolone, and caramelized onion on a soft toasted sweet roll. These are served with a warm au jus dipping sauce.

Provided by Natasha Kravchuk

Categories     Easy/Medium

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 large or 2 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)
1/4 tsp sugar
1 oz au jus mix (made according to package instructions)
3 cups water (to make the sauce, or to taste)
16 Hawaiian sweet rolls
1/4 cup mayonnaise (thinly sliced)
1 lb deli pastrami or roast beef (thinly sliced)
9 slices mild provolone cheese (not aged)
2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted, plus more to grease baking sheet)
1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350˚F. Butter a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Place a large skillet over medium/high heat with 1 Tbsp olive oil and 2 Tbsp butter. Add sliced onion and Sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes until softened, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp sugar and sautee uncovered 5 minutes until caramelized and golden, stirring often. Transfer to a plate.
  • In the same pan, add 2 1/2 cups water and scrape the pan to deglaze. Add the au jus seasoning (adding to taste*) then bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer according to package instructions. Add more water to taste if it's too salty.
  • Cut buns in half. Place the bottom half of dinner rolls on a buttered baking sheet and spread 1/4 cup mayo. Layer folded slices of beef evenly over the rolls. Spread caramelized onions over your sliders. Cover the beef with sliced provolone.
  • Place the top of buns over and brush the tops with 2 Tbsp melted butter then immediately sprinkle tops with sesame seeds. Bake uncovered at 350˚F for 12-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  • Cut through the buns with a serrated knife to separate into individual sliders. Serve with warm au jus dip.

EASY FRENCH DIP SLIDERS RECIPE

Easy French Dip Sliders Recipe image

Provided by á-5080

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 rolls total)
1 pound deli roast beef*
12 slices Sargento provolone cheese, separated, 1 package
1 and 1/2 cups French fried onions, optional
Seasoning
8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 packet Au Jus seasoning mix, separated
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
3/4 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt, optional**

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish with the softened unsalted butter. Without separating the rolls, slice the package of rolls in half (see video). Place the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish. Top with the 6 slices of the provolone cheese, roast beef, french fried onions, remaining 6 slices of cheese, and the other half of the rolls. In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Mix in 1 tablespoon of the au jus seasoning mix, Worcestershire sauce, sesame seeds, dried minced garlic, onion powder, and seasoned salt **(I like things salty! If you don't leave this out). Whisk until well combined. Top the rolls evenly with this mixture (you don't need to use all of it, we usually use about 3/4ths) but just make sure all the rolls are entirely coated. If you have leftover put it in the fridge to top steak or bread at another time. Bake the sliders uncovered until the cheese is gooey and the tops of the rolls are golden brown -- about 15-20 minutes. Remove and cut the sliders with a very sharp knife. While the sliders are baking, take the remaining au jus mixture and place in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add 2 cups cold water and whisk. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer to allow it to slightly thicken. Serve with the sandwiches.
