Easy Peppa Pig Cake Recipes

EASY PEPPA PIG CAKE

Steps:

• Gather up the M&M's You will need Dark Pink, Light Pink, Red, White and Brown.
• Prepare 1-2 batches of our Best Buttercream Frosting (you will find the recipe and detailed directions here). If you have made a 9x13" sheet cake or an 8" two-layer cake, a single batch of frosting will be fine. But you'll probably need 2 batches of frosting for anything bigger than that.
• Color the frosting pink. We used 2 drops of Wilton Color Right Food Coloring to color the frosting a very light pink.
• Frost your cake. We used a basic two-layer round yellow cake. You can use a sheet cake, a pan of brownies, a store-bought cake ... anything you want.
• Find a picture of Peppa Pig on Google Images. Print it out so that the head fits on the top of your cake. Carefully, lay the print-out on the top of your frosted cake but don't press down on it.
• Use a knife to lightly trace the outline of Peppa's head into the frosting and then remove the print-out.
• Using your line as a guideline, use Dark Pink M&M's to define the outside of Peppa's head.
• Now use Dark Pink M&M's to create Peppa's ears. Her back ear is a little bigger than the front ear. Fill the empty space with Light Pink M&M's.
• Using your picture as a guide for placement, create a small smiling mouth with Red M&M's.
• Use White and Black M&M's to make Peppa's eyes.
• Use Dark Pink M&M's to make Peppa's cheek.
• Starting with the nose area - work to the right and fill in the rest of Peppa's head with Light Pink M&M's.

HOW TO MAKE AN EASY PEPPA PIG CAKE

Steps:

• Grease two deep 23 cm cake pans and line with baking paper. Use one circle and one square.
• Combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl using an electric mixer. Beat on low until the ingredients are combined and then increase to medium speed until the mixture is smooth.
• Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and bake in a medium heat oven for 1 1/4 hours. (180-190 celcius, 350-375 Fahrenheit or gas mark 4).
• Once cooked, stand the cake for 5 minutes before turning onto a wire rack to cool.
• Draw separate templates of the head and body according to the size of your cake tins and use these templates to cut around the cake to form the head (round tin) and body (square tin).
• Use a tray or a cake board to display the cake.
• Please note: You will need to make the recipe with the mixture outlined above TWICE. Once for the square pan and once for the circle pan.
• HOW TO MAKE THE ICING:
• Beat the butter with an electric mixer until very pale.
• Gradually add half the icing sugar and keep beating until all ingredients are combined.
• Add the milk and remaining icing sugar, continuing to beat until smooth.
• Add your desired food coloring.
• HOW TO DECORATE:
• Place musk sticks for the arms and legs and cut a mint biscuit in half for the shoes.
• Place marshmallows for the eyes and cheek, and use a black icing pen for the pupils. Place a couple of smarties for the nostrils.
• Use a pink icing pen to outline the face.
• Use a red icing pen to outline the dress and draw the mouth.
• If needed use an icing pen to stick down the must sticks and biscuits to the board.
• If desired use the smarties to outline your child's age on Pegga Pig's dress.

PEPPA PIG CUPCAKES

Steps:

• Make a batch of cupcakes.
• Make a batch of our Best Buttercream Frosting recipe.
• Tint the butter cream frosting Pink, Bright Pink and Red. We used Wilton Color Right Food Coloring in the follow formulas: Light Pink (used to frost the cupcakes) - 2 drops of Wilton Color Right Pink Food coloring Medium Pink (used to outline the Peppa Pig Cookie) - 4 drops of Wilton Color Right Pink Food Coloring Red (used for Peppa Pig's mouth, cheek, and nose) - 7 drops of Red food coloring and 3 drops of Crimson food coloring.
• Slice Mini Marshmallow in half diagonally for the ears.
• Prepare the Pink Sugar Wafers for the snout. Cut each one in half, and then round off the edges of one side with a sharp knife. You will need one of these for each cupcake.
• Once the cupcakes cooled, cut a slit in the cupcake for the cookie snout. Before you put the cookie in the slit in the cupcake, frost that area of the cupcake. It's too hard to do it after the cookie is already attached to the cupcake and you need the frosting underneath the cookie to prop it up.
• Slip the pink wafer cookie into the slit on the cupcake. It will rest on the frosting.
• Use a knife to frost the rest of the cupcake with a generous amount of light pink frosting.
• Smooth the frosting over the whole cupcake to even it out.
• Add a tiny dollop of frosting on the sticky sides of the cut mini marshmallows.
• Stick the ears onto the top of the cupcake, frosting side up.
• Now add the Wilton Candy Eyeballs.
• Place the medium pink frosting into a piping bag with a small Wilton #3 Decorating tip and then outline the entire face and around the eyes.
• Finally, use red frosting to make Peppa's smile, the blush on her cheek, and her nostrils.
