Ingredients

5 cups nonfat dry milk powder
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
11 cups water
Optional: Miniature marshmallows and peppermint candy sticks

Steps:

In a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker, combine the milk powder, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon; gradually whisk in water until smooth. Cover and cook on low 3-4 hours, until heated through., If desired, top with marshmallows and use peppermint sticks for stirrers.

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
1/2-1 1/4 teaspoon salt, to taste
3/4 cup hot water
1 gallon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Steps:

In large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa and salt.
Add hot water slowly, mixing well.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Boil and stir 2 minutes.
Add milk; heat to serving temperature, stirring occasionally.
DO NOT boil.
Remove from heat; add vanilla, cinnamon if desired, and whip with a whisk.
Serve hot, with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
This recipe can be doubled and kept in crockpot for easier serving to large groups.

1/2 cup sugar (depends how sweet you like it. I prefer it without, my kids like the sugar added) (optional)

Steps:

Mix first 6 ingredients in a saucepan or crock pot until well combined and heated. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Garnish with whipped cream and marshmallows as desired!

10 quarts milk
1 quart heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
Whipped cream and additional baking cocoa

Steps:

In each of two large stockpots, combine 2-1/2 cups cocoa, 1-1/2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon salt. Gradually stir 5 cups water into each pot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Whisk in the milk, cream and remaining water; heat through. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Garnish with whipped cream and additional cocoa.

Whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt, and about 2 tablespoons milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and heat it over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it is hot. Stir in the vanilla and serve.
If you like it frothy, blend it in the blender.
This recipe multiplies easily. When you get up to a quart of milk, use 1/4 teaspoon salt.
