Kids will have as much fun helping make this all-in-one supper as they will have eating it! The noodles cook right in the skillet and it's been a super-easy standby at Ruth Nolan's home in San Jose, California for decades.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 medium green pepper, julienned
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound hot dogs, halved lengthwise and cut into bite-size pieces
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup tomato juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cups uncooked egg noodles

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Add the hot dogs, tomatoes, tomato juice, salt, marjoram, garlic, basil and pepper. Bring to a boil; add the noodles. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until noodles are tender.

Number Of Ingredients 12

12 Rhodes White Dinner Rolls , thawed and risen
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup butter softened
ALMOND GLAZE
1 cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Roll combined rolls into a 12x9-inch rectangle. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest. Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Remove wrap and spread sugar mixture evenly over dough. Press mixture into dough with the palms of your hands. Cut into twelve 1-inch strips. Stack 2 strips together and twist several times. Arrange twists in well sprayed 10-inch heart pan. Sprinkle any mixture that may have fallen out when twisting over top. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise 30- 45 minutes. Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 20-25 minutes. Let cool in pan 5 minutes and then remove to cooling rack. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over bread.

"My husband loves this fruit-filled bread, so I fix it for him often," shares Sandra Hessler of Caro, Michigan. It's easy to prepare with frozen white and wheat bread dough, yet it's lovely enough for a special occasion.

1 loaf (1 pound) frozen white bread dough, thawed
1 loaf (1 pound) frozen whole wheat bread dough, thawed
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 package (8 ounces) mixed dried fruit, chopped
GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Cut each loaf of bread dough in half lengthwise. Roll each portion into an 18x5-in. rectangle. Brush lightly with water. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Sprinkle with fruit. Roll up each rectangle, jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. , For each loaf, twist one white and one wheat rope together, pinching ends to seal. Place on greased baking sheets. Cover with plastic wrap coated with cooking spray; let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Remove plastic wrap. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to cool on wire racks. Combine glaze ingredients; drizzle over loaves.
