MARTHA'S FRENCH TOAST WITH GRAND MARNIER

Fresh orange zest and juice, as well as orange liqueur, add a bright, citrusy flavor to every delicious slice. I serve it with butter, sanding sugar, or some pure maple syrup," says Martha Stewart. - In a large shallow dish, beat eggs with a fork. Beat in liqueur, sugar, large pinch of salt, and orange zest and juice. Add milk and beat until combined.
- In a large heavy skillet, heat 4 tablespoons oil and 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high until sizzling. Gently dip brioche, one slice at a time, into egg mixture to coat and add to skillet (do not crowd pan). In batches, cook until golden brown on both sides, 5 minutes per batch, flipping once. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined wire rack. Repeat with remaining brioche, adding remaining oil and butter as needed. (Reduce heat if brioche is browning too quickly.) Serve with butter and sugar or maple syrup.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees with rack in the middle of the oven. In a large bowl, beat eggs with a fork. Beat in liqueur, sugar, large pinch of salt, and orange zest and juice. Add milk and beat until combined.
- Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with nonstick baking mats. Gently dip brioche, one slice at a time, into egg mixture to coat, placing 6 slices on each baking sheet. Transfer to oven and bake for 12 minutes. Increase oven temperature to broil. Cook until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Repeat with second baking sheet. Serve with butter and sugar or maple syrup.
CREME BRULEE FRENCH TOAST

- Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Remove crusts from bread, and arrange in the baking dish in a single layer. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, orange brandy, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover, and chill at least 8 hours, or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove the dish from the refrigerator, and bring to room temperature.
- Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until puffed and lightly browned.

GRAND MARNIER FRENCH TOAST MARIANTED OVERNIGHT
My mother's neighbor used to make this for special events. It is incredibly tasty and very easy. It looks pretty sprinkled with a little powdered sugar! This needs to sit overnight and cook time does not reflect this.

- This recipe requires 8 hours or refrigeration. Preheat oven to 350. Heat the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in pan until brown sugar melts, stirring frequently. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan, tilting the pan to ensure even coverage. Arrange the bread slices over the prepared layer. Pour egg mixture over bread, turning once to coat. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 375°. Turn bread again to coat. For topping, combine flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and, if desired, nutmeg.
