Everyone should have a go-to chili recipe. Whether it's a cold dreary day or game day, chili is a huge crowd-pleaser. Speaking of a crowd, this dish will feed the masses and is filled with classic flavors that are great on their own or even better served over a baked potato.

Number Of Ingredients 16

Ingredients

2 teaspoons olive oil
2 pounds ground chuck
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup tomato paste
One 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Two 15-ounce cans red kidney beans
Shredded Cheddar, for serving
Chopped fresh chives, for serving
Sour cream, for serving

Steps:

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or pot over medium-high heat. Brown the ground chuck until no longer pink. Add the celery, onions, bell peppers and garlic. Cook just until the vegetables start to soften, 3 to 5 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and stir to coat the vegetables. Next, add the crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin and cayenne. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, 45 minutes.
Add the beans to the liquid and simmer to heat through. Serve the chili topped with shredded Cheddar, chives and sour cream.

FRIDAY NIGHT CHILI RECIPE

2 lbs ground beef
3 large cloves garlic, minced
2 large onions, chopped
2 (16oz) can kidney beans
2 cups water
1 (16oz) can diced tomatoes
8 oz can tomato sauce
2 tblsp chili powder
2 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp red pepper

Steps:

Combine ground beef, garlic and onion in pan and cook until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well. Add undrained beans, the 2 cups of water and the undrained tomatoes. Add the rest of the ingredients and reduce heat and simmer uncovered 1 hour, stirring occasionally. I like to serve it with rice.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1 -1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can low sodium beef broth
1 (28 ounce) can hunt diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can hunt tomato sauce
1/2-3/4 cup Heinz Chili Sauce, depends on sweetness
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained (optional)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package chili seasoning mix (any spiciness)
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 tablespoon strong coffee

Steps:

Heat oil in skillet, add onion and green pepper.
Cook until tender.
Add ground beef, cook until no longer pink; drain well.
Light spray crock pot with oil.
Combine all ingredients, except beans and coffee.
Stir to blend well.
Cook on LOW for 4 hours or on HIGH 2 hours.
Add pinto beans and coffee; blend well.
Cook additional 2 hours.
Serve with Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread.
