Galaxy Donuts image

These baked galaxy donuts are a kid friendly breakfast recipe that is so much fun to make!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup water
1 tsp white or cider vinegar
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 1/2 tbsp oil, (or applesauce or mashed banana for fat-free)
1/3 cup pure maple syrup or agave
1 cup flour, loosely packed
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
galaxy glaze ((see above))

Steps:

  • Whisk all liquid ingredients. Grease a donut pan or a mini muffin pan, and preheat the oven to 350 F. Add dry ingredients to a bowl. Once oven is preheated, stir wet into dry (don't overmix). Smooth batter into the pan. Bake 9 minutes or until donuts are cooked through. Let sit about 5 minutes before popping out of the pan.   • It is time to shape the dough into a ball and place it in a big bowl covered with a cloth or transparent food film. Wait for the next 2 hours until the dough has doubled or tripled in size.
