This Ginger Elixir recipe is a deliciously tangy way to strengthen your immune system. Packed with antioxidants and so much goodness it will make you feel invincible!

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 cups filtered water
40 g fresh ginger
25 g fresh turmeric (or extra ginger)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice ((30g))
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Pinch salt flakes
1-2 teaspoons sweetener (optional)
Fresh mint leaves
Ice cubes

Steps:

  • Pour water into a large saucepan over high heat.
  • Roughly chop ginger and turmeric and add to the water. Bring to a boil then remove the pan from the heat. Leave to cool for 20 minutes.
  • Strain mixture through a nut bag or a fine sieve.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the tonic. Test and adjust sweetener or spice to personal taste.
  • Serve with fresh mint over ice.
  • Roughly chop ginger and turmeric and place into mixer bowl. Chop 5 sec/speed 7. Scrape down sides of bowl.
  • Add water to mixer bowl. Heat 7 min/100°C/speed 2. Leave to cool for 20 minutes.
  • Strain mixture through a nut bag or a fine sieve.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the tonic. Test and adjust sweetener or spice to personal taste.
  • Serve with fresh mint over ice.
