Easy, unusual treat that everyone will love! Roll in a favorite spice like ground cumin, paprika, or chili powder. Serve immediately with sliced French bread, crackers, or apple wedges.

½ cup sour cream
¼ cup butter, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 (7 ounce) balls Gouda cheese, wax removed
1 teaspoon cumin

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mix the sour cream, butter, and flour. Divide into two equal portions, cover, and refrigerate 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Roll out the dough portions on a flat surface. Place a gouda ball in the center of each portion, and wrap. Roll wrapped balls in the cumin. Place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned.

4 oz smoked Gouda cheese, shredded (1 cup)
1/3 cup cooked real bacon bits or pieces (from a jar or package)
1/4 cup finely chopped drained sun-dried tomatoes in oil
1 cup finely chopped pecans or 2/3 cup finely chopped parsley

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, Gouda cheese and bacon bits until well blended. Stir in tomatoes. Cover; refrigerate 45 to 60 minutes or until firm enough to shape into balls.
  • Place pecans in small shallow bowl. Shape cheese mixture into 28 (1-inch) balls, about 2 teaspoons cheese mixture for each ball. Roll in pecans to coat.
  • Serve immediately, or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve (up to 24 hours).

1 packages cream cheese
1 cans crescent rolls

Steps:

  • Grate the Gouda cheese in a bowl and then add the softened cream cheese and mix until well combined.
  • Make it into a round circle and wrap the crescent roll dough around the cheese mixture and then flatten out a little on the top and put in a greased baking pan or dish.
  • Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until you see the cheese coming out and the rolls are browned.
  • Serve with a knife to slather cheese on some quartered Granny Smith apples or crackers. Could be served with any vegetables you wish or cracker, or fruit.

Steps:

  • Use a spatula to scrape the cheese mixture out unto a large piece of cling wrap. Use your hands to mold the cheese into a ball inside of the plastic wrap. If you have time, refrigerate the ball for an hour or so to firm it up. If not proceed to the next step.
  • Gently unmold the cling wrap from the ball and place it on a bed of bacon or pecans. Roll the ball until every side is covered in the coating. If there are a few bare spots press bacon in gently to cover.
