Number Of Ingredients 14

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped, divided
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 small green pepper, finely chopped
2 cups sour cream
3 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Optional: Chopped green onions and chopped tomatoes
Corn chips

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and half of the onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 20 minutes., Spread refried beans into a 13x9-in. dish; top with beef mixture, tomatoes, green pepper and remaining onion. Layer with sour cream and cheese. If desired, top with chopped green onions and chopped tomatoes. Serve with chips.

1 can (16 oz.) TACO BELL® Refried Beans
1/2 cup TACO BELL® Thick & Chunky Salsa

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in microwavable bowl.
  • Microwave on HIGH 5 to 6 min. or until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 3 min.
  • Serve with assorted cut-up fresh vegetables or tortilla chips.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1 teaspoon beau monde seasoning
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon finely chopped scallion

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese, and mayonnaise and mix well to blend.
  • Add dried dill weed, Bea monde seasoning, parsley and scallions and mix well to blend.
  • Chill before serving.
  • Refrigerate any unused portions.
  • Bea Monde Seasoning is available in most super markets or specialty food stores.
  • If desired, you may substitute and use sour cream instead of cream cheese.

My Grandpa always makes chili verde but never really followed a strict recipe. I kept bugging him to get me a recipe for it, so he wrote it down as he went along.

1 lb pork, cubed
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
1 teaspoon garlic
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon dried cilantro, leaf
1 clove
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Put pork in plastic bag with flour, salt and pepper. Shake until meat is well covered.
  • Brown pork in frying pan with oil.
  • While meat is browning, you can put the other ingredients in a larger pan, save about ½ cup broth to put in frying pan after pork is out.
  • When meat is done, put it in the large pan and pour ½ cup broth in frying pan and stir. Add to larger pot. Simmer until meat is tender.
