- Combine the sugar and water in a glass pitcher and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the lemon juice and stir to blend. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Fill tall glasses with ice and pour the lemonade over it. Garnish with lemon slices and mint. Serve immediately. Killer Lemonade - Puree some fresh or frozen strawberries or raspberries in a blender, and add 1 tablespoon of puree to each glass of lemonade. Stir to mix. Serve immediately.

- Make a simple syrup by adding the sugar and water to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Add a gallon of cold water and the lemon juice to a large glass pitcher. Add the simple syrup and the lemon slices. Stir well. Pour the lemonade into tall glasses filled with ice. Garnish the rims with lemon wedges and enjoy icy cold!

- Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.

GRANDMA'S MINI LEMON BREADS
This was one of those recipe's that my grandma said no one would ever have and she refused to give it out. I feel that no recipe should be kept secret! But after she moved I found her recipe for this sitting in the pantry under our flour container. (not sure if she did it on purpose or by mistake) She used to make these as a "stocking stuffer" and passed them out to EVERYONE! This was one of the FEW things she knew how to make well. I think this would be good to cut into slices and serve with other goodies at parties for the holidays.

- Grease and flour 5 mini loaf pans (the aluminum foil kind work well for this) or 2 small loaf pans.

This is the greatest lemonade I ever had and lemonade is my favorite drink! You actually get an entire gallon of lemonade out of 4 large lemons. It is a little more work than traditional lemonade recipes, but TOTALLY worth it! A gallon does not last 24 hours in our house!

- Slice lemons and place in a large bowl.
- Add sugar and pour boiling water over all.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved, squashing lemon slices with back of spoon as you stir.
- Let sit until cool enough to handle.
- By hand, squeeze lemon slices and discard.
- Stir mixture to make sure well combined and all sugar is dissolved.
- Pour into a gallon container and fill with cold water (you can strain first if you like to get rid of the seeds).
- Serve over ice and ENJOY!

- Prepare Zest. Peel zest from 2 lemons and cut into thin strips. If necessary remove any bitter white pith with a sharp knife.
- Boil Syrup. Boil zest, 2 cups of sugar, a pinch of salt and 1 cup of water for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add a few fresh mint leaves. Steep for 10 minutes.
- Mix Lemonade. Mix together fully cooled syrup and lemon juice to make lemonade syrup. Combine this syrup with water or club soda. I like a ratio of approximately 1 part syrup to 5 parts water, but taste it and see what you like.
- Variations. What made my grandma's cooking so great was that she wasn't afraid to experiment. Although mint is delicious it can be fun to mix things up sometimes.
