.25 oz. simple syrup
3 dashes bitters
1 piece orange peel

Steps:

  • Stir ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  • Strain into rocks glass.
  • Serve chilled neat and garnished with orange peel.

ESPRESSO OLD FASHIONED

1 demerara or white sugar cube
Several dashes Angostura bitters
1/2 teaspoon syrup from Luxardo cherries plus 2 Luxardo cherries, skewered
1/4 teaspoon espresso powder
1/2 large egg white
2 ounces Irish whiskey, bourbon or rye whiskey
1 orange peel twist

Steps:

  • In a chilled cocktail shaker, add the sugar cube, bitters, Luxardo syrup, espresso powder and 1/2 teaspoon water, then muddle.
  • Add 3 to 4 ice cubes and the egg white and shake until chilled. Add the whiskey and shake again. Strain the cocktail over a large ice cube in a chilled rocks glass. Garnish with the skewered cherries. Squeeze the orange twist over the drink; drop the twist into the drink. Serve immediately.

2-3 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
1 slice half orange
1 lemon twist
1 maraschino cherry
1 teaspoon superfine sugar or 2 tablespoons simple syrup
4 dashes Angostura bitters

Steps:

  • In a double-rocks (old-fashioned) glass combine sugar and bitters. Add a couple of teaspoons of hot water, and stir together until sugar is dissolved. Add orange slice, and mull until well mixed. Fill glass with ice, and top with bourbon, stir well. Garnish with lemon peel, twisted to release oil, and cherry.

2 ripe yellow peaches
2 tablespoons sugar
6 sprigs thyme, plus more for garnish
4 dashes of bitters
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
6 ounces bourbon

Steps:

  • Quarter peaches and grill until charred. Muddle sugar, thyme, bitters, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Add bourbon, and divide among 4 ice-filled glasses. Garnish with peach section and thyme sprigs.

I never seen anyone make this recipe before except the women on my mother's side of the family. It is a very old recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 slices bread
1 large egg
2 1/2 tablespoons milk or 2 1/2 tablespoons cream
1 ounce cheese
butter or cooking spray

Steps:

  • In a 1 or 1.5 Pt bowl, whisk together one large egg with 2 - 3 TBSP of Milk or Cream This is to make it not too runny/liquid but to make the egg able to coat both sides of the 2 halves of bread.
  • Prepare a 9 inch skillet by either spraying with cooking spray or buttering it generously.
  • Preheat skillet over medium heat. The skillet MUST be hot before frying bread slices or unwanted results may occur.
  • Quickly coat both sides of one slice of bread in the egg/milk or cream mixture.
  • Fry in the hot skillet on both sides till golden brown(Time will vary because of several factors but usually 60 seconds or less so keep an eye on it)
  • Put the first fried slice on a clean plate.
  • Coat second slice of bread in the egg/milk or cream & fry both sides.
  • This time when both sides are fried; lay the slice of your favorite cheese on the slice of fully cooked bread in the skillet and cover with first slice of bread.
  • Turn over and wait 15-30 seconds until the cheese melts.
  • Enjoy!
