1 pound ground turkey
1 medium onion, chopped
1 envelope sloppy joe mix
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1-1/4 cups water
SLAW:
1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and cubed
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2-1/2 cups coleslaw mix
6 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook turkey and onion over medium heat 7-8 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink and onion is tender, breaking up turkey into crumbles; drain. , Stir in sloppy joe mix, tomato paste and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 8-10 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally., Meanwhile, place avocado, oil, lemon juice, cumin, salt and pepper in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Transfer to a small bowl; stir in coleslaw mix. Spoon meat mixture onto bun bottoms and top with slaw. Replace tops.

1.3 lbs of lean ground turkey (that seems to be the standard weight in pre-packaged portions in the supermarket)
1/2 green Bell pepper, chopped coarsely
1 cup finely chopped Vidalia onion
1 small minced shallot
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
2 TBS olive oil
8-oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
2 TBS cider vinegar
2 TBS brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp oregano
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 avocado
6 whole wheat buns
freshly ground black pepper and salt, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over high heat 2. Add the onion, garlic, shallot and pepper to the skillet cooking until onions are translucent and pepper is tender 3. Crumble in the ground turkey making sure to break the meat into small bits. Cook until most of the meat has turned from pink to brown. 4. Stir in the remaining ingredients (hold off on salting the mixture until the end). Bring the Joe mixture to a boil and then reduce heat to low simmering for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens. 5. Toast the buns until golden brown. 6. Cut avocado into thin 1/8-inch slices. 7. Scoop the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the buns and top with avocado slices. 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ pounds ground turkey
1 tomato, chopped

¾ green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 pinch red pepper flakes
salt and ground black pepper to taste
4 ounces tomato paste
1 lemon, juiced
6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
6 slices American cheese

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic in hot oil until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Break ground turkey into the pot. Cover pot with lid and cook meat until browned on the outside, 2 to 3 minutes. With a slivered wooden spoon, break meat up into very small pieces; continue to cook and stir until nearly completely browned, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Stir tomato, onion, green bell pepper, parsley, and red pepper flakes into the turkey mixture; season with salt and black pepper; cook until the tomato softens, 3 to 4 minutes. Add tomato past and lemon juice; stir to coat vegetables with tomato paste. Cover pot with lid, reduce heat to low, and cook until the vegetables are tender, 7 to 10 minutes. 1 (8 ounce) package button mushrooms, finely chopped
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 ½ pounds ground turkey
8 medium hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Mix water, curry ketchup, tomato powder, Worcestershire sauce, coconut sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add mushrooms and onions. Cook until vegetables begin to soften, about 5 minutes. 1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup pasta sauce
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
hamburger bun (optional)

Steps:

  • Coat a large frying pan with oil and set over medium-high heat.
  • When hot, add onion and green pepper, saute until onions starts to soften about 3 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, crumble while browning meat.
  • Add garlic, Worcestershire, basil, thyme, salt and pepper.

1 red onion (diced)
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
3 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 Tablespoon steak seasoning
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
15 ounces tomato sauce (1 can)
6 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Brown ground turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add pepper and onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, vinegar, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce.
  • Add sauce to skillet, reduce heat to medium and let simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes.
  • Serve warm on hamburger buns.

  • Spread the onion, celery, and bell pepper evenly on the baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil over them and drop the tablespoon of tomato sauce on the baking sheet. Lightly toss the veggies with the tomato paste (the oil will help it spread around) until they are evenly coated.
  • Carefully slice off the very top of the garlic so that most of the cloves are exposed. Drizzle a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil over the top and then wrap the garlic in tin foil. Place it on the baking sheet with the rest of the veggies. Roast all of it for about 40 minutes or so. Remove them from the oven to cool.
  • While the veggies are cooling, heat another tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef and Italian seasoning and cook, breaking the beef apart with a spatula, until browned. Add the red wine and boil until most of the liquid has evaporated.
