Healthy Vegan Hummus Recipe With Tahini image

The best easy, healthy hummus recipe made with tahini and chickpeas.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 can chickpeas ((1 can = 15.5 oz.))
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp tahini ((I used Trader Joe's brand))
1/4 cup chickpea liquid
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp lemon juice ((freshly squeezed))
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly, saving 1/4 cup of the chickpea liquid to use in the hummus.
  • Add the chickpeas, chickpea liquid, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice to a high speed blender.
  • Blend for a few minutes until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Transfer the hummus to a serving dish.
  • Dig in and enjoy!

  • Place all ingredients in food processor and blend until desired consistency. Taste for flavor adding anything here and there that you like….garlic, lemon, salt, cumin.
  • Depending on the size of your lemons or how many you used, you may like to add the extra 2 tablespoons of water for slightly thinner consistency.
  • Serve with toppings of choice or plain. I have garnished here with chickpeas, sesame seeds, chopped parsley, a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of smoked paprika.
