HOISIN BARBECUE HOT DOGS



Hoisin Barbecue Hot Dogs image

Our Asian-inspired barbecue sauce is made with tangy hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Its the perfect topping for barbecue hot dogs with a punch.

1 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 to 2 teaspoons grated gingerroot
6 hot dogs
6 hot dog buns, split
6 green onions, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and gingerroot; set aside.
  • Place hot dogs on grill over medium heat. Cook uncovered about 10 minutes, turning frequently, until hot.
  • Spread desired amount of barbecue sauce on cut sides of each bun. Place grilled hot dogs in buns; top with onions. Refrigerate any remaining sauce up to 1 week.
