SPICY CHEX MIX RECIPE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 250ºF. In large bowl, add the corn, rice, and wheat chex cereals, mixed nuts, mini pretzels and bagel chips. Set aside.
• Place the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the butter completely melts. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, chili powder, paprika and cayenne. Whisk together until combined. Pour the butter over the cereal mixture,
• Pour the butter sauce over the cereal mixture and toss together until everything is evenly coated.
• Spread the chex mix onto a large rimmed baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to make sure everything crisps up evenly. Let cool slightly before eating.

HOMEMADE CHEX® PARTY MIX

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
• Melt butter, Worcestershire, garlic salt, and celery salt over low heat in a medium saucepan until butter has dissolved, 3 to 5 minutes.
• Combine rice cereal, wheat cereal, corn cereal, oat cereal, mixed nuts, and pretzel sticks in a large mixing bowl. Pour butter mixture over and gently stir to coat all of the pieces. Transfer mixture to a large roasting pan.
• Bake in the preheated oven until golden, about 2 hours, stirring gently every 15 minutes.
• Remove from the oven and let cool completely, about 1 hour. Store in airtight containers.

THE ORIGINAL CHEX® PARTY MIX

Steps:

• Heat oven to 250°F.
• Melt butter in large roasting pan in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in all remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
• Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread onto paper towels to cool. Store in container with tight-fitting lid.

ORIGINAL CHEX® PARTY MIX

Steps:

• In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

EXTRA-BOLD CHEX MIX

Steps:

• Add the Chex, pretzels, Cheerios, and peanuts together in a large microwave-safe mixing bowl, and gently stir a bit to combine.
• In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt and garlic powder together until combined. Drizzle half of the sauce evenly over the Chex mix. Then give the mix a gentle stir to combine. (I like to stir with a rubber spatula, to help prevent breaking the Chex.) Repeat by drizzling the remaining sauce over the Chex mix, and stir again until combined.
• Microwave uncovered on high 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes.
• Spread the mix out on parchment paper or paper towels until it has cooled to room temperature. Store in airtight container for up to 3 weeks.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. NOTE: Many readers have had issues with their mix burning at 325 degrees. I haven't had this problem, but I would recommend baking at 250 degrees F to avoid this potential issue.
• In a large roasting pan, stir together the cereals, pretzels and nuts.
• In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper. Drizzle evenly over the cereal mixture and, using clean hands, toss to combine, making sure that the mixture is evenly moistened.
• Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Once cool, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
