These easy cinnamon apples taste delicious as a side dish, over ice cream, on pancakes and waffles and so much more. Instant Pot cinnamon apples are perfectly kid friendly and a delicious fall recipe.

6 apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps:

  • Core and slice apples, then add to Instant Pot liner. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice, then stir to combine.
  • In a small bowl, add 1/2 cup cold water to cornstarch and use a fork to stir it until smooth and stir. Pour slurry into Instant Pot and stir again.
  • Add lid and set vent to seal. Cook for seven minutes. Open lid immediately or NPR for 10 minutes.
  • Stir gently with a large wooden spoon to coat apples in sauce and serve immediately.
  • Store leftovers in tightly sealed container in fridge for up to a week. Heat leftovers before serving.

These pork chops are a fantastic way to take advantage of fall flavors. If you don't have pumpkin pie spice, you can substitute 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger. Or, you can just skip the spice mixture and add a second cinnamon stick.

1 teaspoon olive oil
2 (1-inch-thick) boneless pork chops
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 Granny Smith apples, sliced
1 cinnamon stick
2 sage leaves, minced
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Set the Instant Pot to "sauté, medium heat." Once it reads "hot," add the oil and pork chops, sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper, and brown for 5 minutes, turning them over halfway through.
  • Transfer the pork chops to a plate. Add the apples, cinnamon stick, sage, pumpkin pie spice, applesauce, and water to the pot. Mix to combine and return the pork chops to the pot.
  • Cover and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick-release the remaining pressure.
  • Remove the pork chops and half the apples to a plate to rest. Set the pot to "sauté, medium heat" and cook to boil down the sauce until thickened, about 10 minutes. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and apples and serve.

3 pounds Granny Smith* apples (peeled, cored, and cut into small chunks)
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
Dash of salt

Steps:

  • In the insert of the Instant Pot, add all of the ingredients. Stir to mix them together and to roughly coat the apples in the cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot and turn the valve to SEALING. Press MANUAL or PRESSURE COOK on HIGH PRESSURE and set timer for 5 minutes.
  • When the timer is finished, let the Instant Pot sit for 10 minutes and do a NATURAL RELEASE, then move the valve to VENTING to quick release any of the remaining pressure.
  • Remove the lid and stir, then serve warm.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge in an air-tight container for 5-7 days.
