BAKED ITALIAN HOAGIE RECIPE
This baked Italian Hoagie recipe is the perfect crowd-pleasing main dish. They're crazy-easy to put together and bake up just right!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the rolls into a 9" x 13" baking pan, open-side up.
- Bake the rolls for 5 minutes and remove from oven.
- Place 3 folded slices of capicola hot ham onto the bottom of each roll.
- Add a layer of 3 folded pieces of salami onto the sandwiches.
- Divide the sliced banana peppers between the 6 sandwiches.
- Fold each slice of provolone cheese in half to break into two pieces and place on top of the banana peppers.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Serve immediately with Italian dressing.

For spicier sandwiches, use hot Italian sausage or a mix of spicy and mild Italian sausage.

- Cook ground beef and sausage in 4-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 15-20 minutes or until meat is browned. Drain off fat.
- Place meat, water, onions, bell peppers, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and garlic into slow cooker. Cover; cook on High heat setting 2-3 hours or on Low heat setting 5-6 hours.
- Spoon mixture into buns; top each with 2 pieces cheese.

I came up with this recipe for my niece. I combined grilled cheese sandwiches with garlic bread. Its tasty, its quick and its the perfect appetizer for friends, family and unexpected guests. Use a firm white bread for best results.

Steps:
- Preheat your oven's broiler.
- Place 6 slices of bread onto a baking sheet. Spread a small handful of the mozzarella cheese over each slice. Top with the remaining 6 slices of bread. Mix together the butter and garlic powder, brush some over the tops of the sandwiches, or spread with the back of a tablespoon. Sprinkle with dried oregano.
- Place baking sheet under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown. Remove pan from oven, flip sandwiches, and brush the other sides with butter, and sprinkle with oregano. Return to the broiler, and cook until golden, about 2 minutes.
- Cut sandwiches in half diagonally, and serve immediately with vodka sauce on the side for dipping.

Steps:
- If sausage has casings remove them and crumble into pan with the ground beef. Brown both meats together until no longer pink. Drain fat.
- Mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder and pepper flakes into the pizza sauce.
- Put the browned meat and the seasoned sauce into the slow cooker and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 1-2 hours, stir once or twice during cooking.
- Preheat oven to 375 F. Cut the split French loaf into 3 separate sandwiches. Repeat with second loaf. If making all 12 servings, repeat with 3rd and 4th loaf.
- Pull a small amount of bread out of the bottom of the loaf to make a bowl for the meat.
- Fill the bowl with meat mixture.
- Cover the meat mixture with shredded Mozzarella cheese.
- Place the top of loaf onto the sandwich and wrap the entire thing in foil. Bake for 15 minutes in the oven and serve.

- Slightly toast buns, with insides up, in toaster oven or oven.
- On bottom half of bun layer two slices capicola, pepperoni, salami and provalone.

- Bring a large pot of water to a boil; add sausages and cook until no longer pink inside, 10 to 12 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Place marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium-low heat; cook until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and keep warm until sandwiches are ready.
