- Place candies in a container with a lid and add vodka. Seal container and place in a cool, dark place, shaking vigorously 1 to 2 times per hour, until candy has dissolved, 3 to 4 hours.
- Stir sugar into vodka mixture until dissolved.

Homemade Jolly Rancher Candy is sweet, a bit tart, and easy to make. Choose your own flavours and colours to customize it as you like!

- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, if you're not using a mold. Set aside.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir well, bring to a boil on medium or medium-high heat. Affix candy thermometer to pan.
- Boil mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 310 degrees.
- Remove from heat, quickly stir in food coloring, flavoring, and citric acid. Stir mixture until it stops boiling, and most of the "bubbles" disappear - this will minimize texture in your finished candies.

- Place candies in medium oven-safe container or pot. (Heatproof glass measuring cup works well.) Heat candies in oven 15 to 20 minutes or until fully melted, but before beginning to bubble. (Do not stir unless necessary in order to avoid air bubbles on the apples). Remove from oven; place on heatproof surface.
- One apple at a time, dip apple into candy mixture, tilting pan as needed so that apples are covered almost all the way to the top. Allow excess coating to drip off; place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all apples are coated. (If the candy mixture begins to get firm, return pot to oven 2 to 3 minutes. Cool completely to room temperature 10 to 15 minutes). Drizzle with melted white creme chips*, if desired. Allow to set 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

- Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg, vanilla and lemon extract; blend well. (Add about 1/2 teaspoon food color if colored dough is desired). Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture. (Batter will be stiff; stir in last part with wooden spoon or work in with hands). Divide dough in half. Roll each half into ball and flatten to form disk; wrap each disk and refrigerate until dough is firm enough to roll.
- Place candies of same color in food processor; coarsely crush. (Or place candies in heavy-duty food storage bag and crush with rolling pin). Store crushed candies in food storage bags until ready to use so that candies don't clump.
- Roll one half of dough at a time between two pieces of wax paper to about 1/8 inch thickness. Remove top sheet of wax paper. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Remove excess dough from around cut-outs. Slide bottom sheet with cookies onto tray or cookie sheet. Refrigerate cookies and tray.
- Heat oven to 350°F. Line several cookie sheets with foil; spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray. When firm peel wax paper from bottom of cookies and place on prepared cookie sheet. With wooden pick or straw, pierce small hole at top of cookie for use as hanging ornament, if desired. Cut out shapes for the stained glass in each cookie using small cookie cutters or small knife.
