Kellogg's® Rice Krispies Treats® Candy Canes image

Make this fun dessert a holiday centerpiece for your table, then dig in! These giant candy canes are sure to inspire a festive mood.

1 (10 ounce) package regular marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal or Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies™ cereal
2 piece (blank)s Red string licorice
¼ cup Prepared frosting

Steps:

  • Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat
  • Add Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal. Stir until well coated.
  • Divide warm mixture in half and shape each portion into 12-inch candy cane. Wrap red licorice around canes for stripes and secure with frosting. Cut each candy cane into 6 slices. Best if served the same day.

1 (10 ounce) package regular marshmallows
6 cups KELLOGG'S* HOLIDAY RICE KRISPIES*
½ teaspoon vanilla
4 piece (blank)s Licorice

Steps:

  • In a large microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
  • Stir in vanilla. Stir in KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal until well coated. While still warm, shape mixture into two 30 cm candy shapes using buttered hands. Place on surface sprayed with cooking spray, or wax paper.
  • Decorate candy canes string licorice wrapped around it, secured by icing. Slice each cane into 6 slices.

prepared white frosting (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat.. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well-coated.3. Divide warm mixture in half and shape each portion into 12-inch candy cane. (For easier handling, coat fingers with butter, margarine or cooking spray.) Wrap red licorice around canes for stripes and secure with frosting, if desired. Cut each candy cane into 6 slices. Best if served the same day.MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: In a microwave safe bowl, heat margariine and marshmallows at HIGH 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.NOTE: For best results, use fresh marshmallows. 1 (7-oz) jar marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
