Mediterranean-Style Mint Lemonade (Limonana) image

Mint lemonade, prepared Egyptian-style! Intense with flavor, frothy, and extremely refreshing! You'll love this limonana, but there is a small trick that makes all the difference.

Provided by The Mediterranean Dish

Categories     Drinks

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups crushed ice
4 cups water
2 large lemons (or limes), washed, cut into small pieces, and seeds removed
Juice of 1 large lemon
1 bunch fresh mint leaves, stems removed (about 25-40 mint leaves), more for later
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar, more or less to your liking (you can use cane sugar or part honey, if you like)

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients to the pitcher of a high-quality blender. Cover and push blend or liquefy (high-speed function), until you achieve the desired drink consistency.
  • Taste and add more sugar or mint leaves, if you like. Blend again.
  • Pour the lemonade into a serving pitcher through a mesh strainer. Add fresh mint leaves to the pitcher. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
  • If you like, strain the lemonade again as you pour into serving glasses. Enjoy cold!

LEBANESE SPARKLING ROSEWATER MINT LEMONADE RECIPE

Lebanese Sparkling Rosewater Mint Lemonade Recipe image

Say hello to Lebanese lemonade! Lighter than an American lemonade, more akin to a French citron presse, and flavored with mint and rose water.

Provided by Aida Mollenkamp

Categories     Drinks

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 whole lemons (zested)
3 tablespoons superfine sugar (or honey)
1 tsp rose water
20 mint leaves (plus more for garnish (or basil leaves))
ice
12 ounces lemon mineral water or bitter lemon soda

Steps:

  • Make The Lemonade Base: Combine lemon juice, zest, honey, or superfine sugar, and rose water, stir to combine, and divide between two glasses. Place the mint leaves in the palm of one hand, hit or smack them once with the back of your hand, then add to the glasses.
  • Serve The Lemonade: Add enough ice to fill glasses halfway then divide mineral water or club soda between glasses. Garnish with a few more mint leaves (or a whole sprig if you'd like) and serve.

LEBANESE LEMONADE

Lebanese Lemonade image

A refreshing summer twist on lemonade that everyone loves. I got his from a cookbook I love "From the Tables of Lebanon" by Dalal Holmin &Maher Abbas. I have however taken a shortcut to make this and it is very good both ways. It is definitely worth tracking down Orange Blossom Water for this drink, it makes it unique. This may be on the sweet side for some, so consider using less sugar until you taste it.

LEBANESE MINT LEMONADE (LIMONANA MINT) - ALPHAFOODIE
2021-09-01 This mint lemonade recipe is inspired by a Lebanese lemonade (limonana mint) I get a lot when visiting family in Lebanon. Instead, this drink is tinged green with the abundance of finely chopped (blended) mint leaves – for a flavor explosion you can’t escape (nor will you want to). More so, limonana is also ...
