Beef 'n' Pork Burgers image

The combination of meats is the secret behind these beef and pork burgers. They're ideal for summer grilling, and everyone loves them. Plus, you can easily double or triple the recipe for large get-togethers. -Sharon Adamczyk, Wind Lake, Wisconsin

4 bacon strips, diced
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
2 to 3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
8 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Mayonnaise, lettuce leaves, red onion, and tomato slices

Steps:

  • In a small skillet, cook bacon, onion and garlic over medium heat until the bacon is crisp; drain and place in a small bowl. Stir in the bread crumbs, egg, water, parsley, salt, marjoram, paprika and pepper. Crumble beef and pork over the mixture and mix well. Shape into eight 3/4-in.-thick patties., Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°. Serve on buns with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato.

Low carb Italian style polpette burgers. So tasty and simple you will want to make them all the time.

300g pork and beef meat (minced)
100g pancetta fat (minced - you can use unsmoked bacon fat instead)
3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (freshly grated - you can use similar hard cheese instead of Parmesan)
50g ricotta cheese
2 teaspoons organic flaxseed meal
1 egg (large - or 2 small)
2 pinches black pepper
1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
2 pinches fine Himalayan pink salt (U.S. option HERE)
2 pinches paprika
(optional) sugar free mayonnaise (U.S. option HERE) This is the brand I use a sit's the best ever, plus it's virtually zero carbs!
(optional) capers

Steps:

  • in a large bowl, whisk the egg manually until slightly frothy, then add the rest of the ingredients.
  • mix well with a spatula and then by hand, squeezing the mixture through your fingers several times so that everything becomes well blended.
  • cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rest in the fridge for a few hours.
  • take the bowl out of the fridge and leave at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
  • scoop up some mixture and form a ball using the palm of your hands, then flatten slightly. I like my polpette to be mini in size, but you can do whatever size you prefer. remember that they will shrink during cooking.
  • grill for a few minutes each side until nicely browned and serve, topped with a sugar-free mayonnaise and capers garnish.

  • In a large bowl mix the two types of meats gently. Dont over mix them so they stay nice and juicy.
  • In a food processor, combine the egg, lemon juice, mustard, garlic clove and process until foamy. With the food processor running, pour in the oil in a very thin trickle until the mixture becomes thick. By hand, stir in the tomatoes, paprika, cajun spice and seasoning.
  • Place just a little sauce on the bottom bun, add all the toppings and the burger in whatever order you like and serve!
