Reynolds™ Parchment Paper
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chocolate-flavor malted milk powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate-covered malted milk balls, crushed
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup chocolate-flavor malted milk powder
2 to 3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with Reynolds Parchment Paper; set aside.
  • In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until well blended. Stir in flour, 1/2 cup malted milk powder, the baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir all Malt Glaze ingredients until smooth and spreadable. Spread Malt Glaze over cooled cookies. Sprinkle with crushed malted milk balls.

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup barley malt syrup
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Beat butter, peanut butter, barley malt syrup, and white sugar together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat eggs into creamed butter mixture until smooth.
  • Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl; stir into creamed butter mixture until dough is just mixed. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and arrange on baking sheets. Flatten each ball using a fork, making a crisscross pattern.
  • Bake in the preheated until edges of cookies are browned, about 10 minutes.

1 cup butter-flavored shortening
1-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup malted milk powder
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, beat the shortening, brown sugar, malted milk powder, chocolate syrup and vanilla for 2 minutes. Add egg. , Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips. , Shape into 2-in. balls; place 3 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack.

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup plain malted-milk powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped and reserved
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together flour, malted-milk powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter and cream cheese until creamy. Mix in sugar and vanilla seeds (reserve pod for another use). Add egg and vanilla extract, and combine. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture and mix to combine.
  • Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip (such as Ateco #825). Pipe 2 1/2-inch strips onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  • Bake until bottom edges are golden brown, 11 to 15 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Cookies can be stored in airtight containers at room temperature up to 1 week.

I've been searching for malt flavored cookies without any chocolate syrup in the recipe. And I found these from cooks.com. They tasted like chocolate chip cookies, these are very soft and chewy. Don't forget to chill, or if you don't have time, freeze the dough, for they'll turn flat if not chilled.

2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup instant malted milk powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, at room temp
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 cups milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 300°. Have ungreased cookie sheets ready.
  • In a bowl mix flour, malted milk powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugars with an electric mixer. Add butter and beat until blended. Add vanilla, condensed milk and eggs. Beat at medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add flour mixture and chocolate chips. Mix at low speed until just blended. Do not over mix. Chill dough til firm enough to scoop out. Drop rounded tablespoonful on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 23 to 25 minutes until cookies are slightly brown around edges.

  • Beat in as much flour as you can with mixer.
  • Stir in remaining flour and malted milk powder with wooden spoon.
  • Stir in chopped malted milk balls.
  • Drop dough from rounded teaspoon 2 1/2- inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until edges are firm.
  • Cool on sheet 1 minute.
  • Transfer to wire racks,let cool.
