This is a classic salad to serve with a steak dinner.

Number Of Ingredients 9

Ingredients

1 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
1/4 cup tomato-based chili sauce
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 scallion, thinly sliced
Salt and pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce, cored and cut into 8 wedges

Steps:

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, chili sauce, milk, vinegar, relish, parsley, scallion, and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper.
Place iceberg wedges on a platter or divide among 4 plates; drizzle with dressing, as desired. Serve immediately.

1 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons ketchup
Dash of hot sauce, such as Tabasco
Pepper
Chips and pretzels, for serving, optional

Steps:

Wash the lettuce and remove any damaged or wilted outer leaves. Remove the lettuce core and discard. Cut the head into quarters and set it aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and the ketchup. Add the hot sauce and pepper to taste. Place a lettuce wedge on each serving plate. Drizzle with the dressing. Also serve dressing with chips and pretzels!

1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup ketchup
1 hard-boiled egg, peeled and very finely chopped
1/4 cup dill pickle relish
salt and pepper
lemon pepper seasoning
1 small head iceberg lettuce
crumbled bacon, for serving
roma tomato, diced finely (optional)

Steps:

For Dressing: Whisk mayo, ketchup, egg, relish and seasonings.
To assemble salad: Cut lettuce into 4 wedges, taking out any hard pieces. Place each on a plate and top with dressing, bacon and tomato.

1 hard-boiled egg, chopped
1 cup homemade or Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce or ketchup
2 tablespoons finely chopped pimento-stuffed green olives
1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped sweet pickle
1 tablespoon chopped onion
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1/2 to 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Steps:

Combine the egg, mayonnaise, chili sauce, olives, 1 tablespoon pickle, the onion, parsley and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice in a mixing bowl and blend well. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Add more chopped pickle and lemon juice as desired.
