1 ounce dry vermouth
1 ounce rye whiskey
2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
Dash of angostura bitters
Lemon twist and bourbon-soaked cherry, for garnish

Steps:

  • Fill a shaker with ice; add vermouth, whiskey, maple syrup, and bitters. Shake vigorously until frosty and cold on outside, 30 seconds. Strain over ice; garnish with lemon twist and cherry.

This Canadian Maple Old-Fashioned Cocktail is a twist on a classic cocktail, made with just a few simple ingredients, that's smooth and easy to sip.

1/2 cup ice
2 oz Canadian whiskey (or bourbon)
2 tsp maple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1-2 maraschino cherries
1 slice orange peel (expressed )

Steps:

  • Add ice to a tumbler along with the whisky, maple syrup, bitters, maraschino cherries.
  • Using a potato peeler or sharp knife remove the rind from the orange without the pith and either twist or squeeze the orange rind to express or release the orange oils into the glass.
  • Stir and serve.

2 ounces rye (Knob Creek Rye is good)
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
2 dashes bitters
Ice
Pickled cherries

Steps:

  • Add the rye, vermouth, maple syrup and bitters into cocktail shaker. Shake it up, pour over good ice in a large and manly rocks glass. Add skewered cherries and drink.
