A wonderful flank steak on the grill recipe I invented that friends just love! My girls think this is great, and it doesn't take long to grill. This also works great when sliced and used for fajitas.

½ cup vegetable oil
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 ½ pounds flank steak

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic, and ground black pepper. Place meat in a shallow glass dish. Pour marinade over the steak, turning meat to coat thoroughly. Cover, and refrigerate for 6 hours.
  • Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
  • Oil the grill grate. Place steaks on the grill, and discard the marinade. Grill meat for 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

1 beef Flank Steak (about 1-1/2 pounds)
Salt & pepper
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon sugar

Steps:

  • 1)Combine marinade ingredients in small bowl. Place beef steak and marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn steak to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or as long as overnight, turning occasionally. 2)Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 11 to 16 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, 16 to 21 minutes) for medium rare (145°F) to medium (160°F) doneness, turning occasionally. 3)Season steak with salt and pepper, as desired. Carve steak crosswise into thin slices.

Here is a good flank steak recipe with no sugar, honey, or soy sauce - great for those watching their salt and sugar intake. Fits perfectly into WeightWatchers Core program. 4 large shallots, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons dry red wine
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 1/2 lbs flank steaks, fat trimmed

Steps:

  • Whisk together the first 5 ingredients and pour in a 13 x 9 x 2 glass baking dish. Add flank steak and turn to coat; marinating steak at least 2 hours, or up to one day, refrigerated, turning occasionally.
  • Preheat broiler. Remove steak from marinade and broil about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Carve thin slices across the grain at a diagonal.

2 cloves garlic, smashed
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup beer
1 tablespoon ginger, chopped
2 - 3-pounds flank steak
Salt
Pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl combine garlic, mustard, honey, balsamic vinegar and beer. Stir in ginger. Place steak in baking pan and pour marinade over and toss to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Remove from pan and season with salt and pepper. Grill on barbecue or cast iron pan for 3 - 5 minutes per side depending on desired degree of doneness. Slice thinly and serve.

2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
2 tablespoons chili sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (1 1/2 lb) flank steaks

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and blend. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • In another small bowl, combine the other ingredients for the steak (except the steak).
  • Brush the steak ingredients on one side of the steak and broil 6 inches from the heat, for 10 minutes.
  • Turn the steak over and brush the other side with the steak ingredients and broil 6-10 minutes longer, until done to your liking.
  • Let meat stand for 5 minutes, after it is done, before thinly slicing the meat across the grain.
  • Serve with the chilled sour cream sauce.

3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 beef flank steak (about 2 pounds)

Steps:

  • In a shallow dish, combine the first 7 ingredients. Add beef; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight., Drain beef, discarding marinade. Grill beef, covered, on an oiled rack over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°). To serve, thinly slice across the grain. Freeze option: Freeze beef with marinade in freezer container. To use, thaw in refrigerator overnight. Drain beef, discarding marinade. Grill as directed.

Steps:

  • Score surface of the steak, making diamond shapes 1/2 in. deep. In a shallow dish, combine the remaining ingredients; add steak and turn to coat. Cover; refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning occasionally., Drain and discard marinade. Grill steak, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°).
