MAYAN STYLE GUACEMOLE WITH MINT AND HABANERO PEPPER
This is a special guacemole I got from a Guatemalan friend. It is very spicy due to the habanero pepper and the fresh mint gives it a special twist. Very special and very good for instance with tortilla chips or BBQ skewers!

Steps:
- In mortar, squash habanero pepper to release the juice. Remove pepper so just the juice is left in the mortar. Add avocados and mash with a fork to a purée. add remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

MAYAN SALSA HABANERA
This is being Posted for ZWT 5 as part of the Mexico Salsa Challenge as a shared recipe. This a one spicy hot kick butt salsa just like team Zaar Chow Hounds. Each ingredient represents a team member. Onion= Mand1642 a lovely addition to any dish and very versatile. Tomatoes = Kumquat cause she loves them and the colour red and she can turn saucy LOL. Cilantro =Wigal our outdoorsy gal that loves to hike up the flavour of many Mexican dishes. Garlic = Lazychef2 she loves garlic and adds great taste to any meal. Haberno chilis= wicked cook 46 she is hot as in hot flashes but watch out she has an nasty kick. Lime juice= Ice Cool Kitty hails from Hawaii where you put the lime in the coconut . Tequila = Sarah jayne watch out for this one she sneaks up on you and makes you forget your name . Black Olives = mommy2 peanuts . Cumin= Pneuma one spicy gal . Sweet red peppers=cookiejarvis. salt = kumama since she is a Grandmother and they are the salt of the Earth NOTE: wear gloves when dealing with peppers. You can cut back on the amount of peppers to lessen the heat and toss the seeds for less heat.You can also use a different pepper depending on how hot you like. Habernos are HOT !!!! - Slice avacados in half, remove seed, scoop our flesh using a spoon into a medium size bowl.
- Mash avacados using fork until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients, saving tomatoes.
- Stir well, taste for seasoning and adjust to your liking.
- Add tomatoes and stir well.
- Chill or serve immediately.
- Will keep in sealed container for 24 hours in refrigorator.

- Cut avocados in half, removing their pit with the tip of your knife. Place avocado flesh into a medium size bowl and mash. I like to use my bean masher for this purpose, but you can use a large spoon or even a fork.
- Finally, gently stir in the onion, habanero pepper, and chopped cilantro leaves. Taste and season with salt in case it needs it, according to your personal taste. I personally don’t add salt, since the Knorr Tomato Bouillon adds lots of flavors.
- Enjoy with some corn tortilla chips. To add an extra kick to your tortilla chips, dust them with some smoked paprika powder right after frying!
