I will be trying this recipe like the other comment I too was in phillipines in 1980 and was an addict with this recipe I couldn't get enough

2 tb Dark brown sugar
2 Garlic minced
1/2 Onion chopped small
2 lb Lean beef chopped small
1 c Soy sauce more as needed

Steps:

  • Slice beef thinly cross-grain (it will slice more easily if partially frozen). Vary marinade ingredients to taste. Place beef strips in a shallow glass container or a ziploc bag along with marinade ingredients. Marinate overnight to 2 days, stirring occasionally or turning bag to mix. Thread beef on to wooden skewers and cook over very hot charcoal. Serve while still hot with rice and oriental vegetables, or just as an hors dourve. When I make these I always think about "mystery meat on a stick" at fairs & carnivals, although I think these are much better! I use this as an appetizer but use it any way you like. Although the recipe calls for flank steak, I usually use sirloin steaks as I have it in the freezer more often.

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons mustard powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 lbs flank steaks, cut into thin strips
32 wooden skewers, soaked in water (8 inch long)

Steps:

  • In a large resealable bag, combine the soy sauce, olive oil, water, molasses, mustard powder, ginger, garlic powder and onion powder.
  • Seal and shake the bag to mix together.
  • Add steak strips to the bag and seal. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours to marinate. (I usually leave it longer, like until the next day.).
  • Preheat the oven's broiler.
  • Thread meat onto skewers and place on a broiling rack.
  • Broil the steak for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  • Arrange on a platter to serve.

This recipe goes real well with my Lumpia recipe. This came from the same party as the Lumpia did. Awesome, tender and very tasty. No monkeys were harmed in any way in the preparation of this recipe. Enjoy!

3 lbs boneless pork loin roast, cut in long 1/2 inch thick strips
12 ounces carbonated lemon-lime beverage, 7 UP (use only 7UP. not diet)
12 ounces soy sauce
15 garlic cloves, sliced
wooden skewer

Steps:

  • Mix 7UP, soy sauce and garlic in a large bowl.
  • Place pork loin strips in bowl.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Weave meat on skewers.
  • Grill until done. For me, it takes about 15 minute to cook.
  • Delicious!
