2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup half-and-half cream (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup 2% milk (110° to 115°)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons Nutella
1 tablespoon hazelnut flavoring syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
3-3/4 to 4-1/4 cups bread flour
FILLING:
1 cup Nutella
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon hazelnut flavoring syrup
1/2 teaspoon instant espresso powder
GLAZE:
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons butter, softened
2 teaspoons buttermilk
2 teaspoons hazelnut flavoring syrup
Chopped hazelnuts, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add cream, milk, sugar, butter, Nutella, hazelnut syrup, salt, espresso powder and 2 cups flour; beat on medium speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (dough will be sticky)., Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 20x16-in. rectangle. Combine filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over dough to within 1/2 in. of edges. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a short side; pinch seam to seal. Cut into 8 slices. Place in a greased or parchment-lined 13x9-in. baking pan. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Remove from refrigerator; cover and let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 45 minutes., Preheat oven to 350°. Bake until golden brown, 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile, combine confectioners' sugar, butter, buttermilk and hazelnut syrup until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls. Sprinkle with hazelnuts if desired. Serve warm.

10 slices of white bread (we used Private Selection Sugarhouse Maple Streusel bread)
10 teaspoons Nutella
1 large egg
1 1/2 tablespoon milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Butter, for frying

Steps:

  • Remove the crusts from the slices of bread. Discard the crusts. Or eat them because that Maple Streusel bread is delish. Roll each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread each slice of flattened bread with one teaspoon of Nutella, spreading on one side of the bread to the length of the bread. Roll the bread up tightly, sealing shut with a dab of Nutella. In a bowl, whisk the egg and milk until combined. In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Heat some butter in a skillet. Dip each roll into the egg mixture until coated, then placing in the hot skillet. Lightly fry until golden brown all over, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve immediately.

A delicious cinnamon roll made with french vanilla pudding and filled with Nutella. Chai flavoring in the frosting add a nice dimension to an ordinary roll. May take a while to prepare but well worth the wait.

1/4 cup of melted butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces French vanilla pudding mix
1 cup of warm buttermilk
1 large egg
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/2 cup of soft butter
12 ounces nutella, spread
3/4 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
roasted pecans (optional) or walnuts (optional)
frosting
8 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 -2 cup powdered sugar
2 -3 tablespoons , spiced powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 -4 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • Melt the water and the butter together. set aside and add vanilla.
  • With the stand mixer using the dough hook or in a bread machine add the water and butter mixture, add the pudding.
  • next add the warm buttermilk, egg, sugar, salt, flour and yeast then mix the ingredients well with the stand mixer, or the dough setting on the bread machine.
  • when the dough is ready, kneed the dough a little bit until pliable. Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  • spread the soft butter around the entire dough. next spread the Nutella just as you did the with the butter.
  • mix the brown sugar and the cinnamon together. if you are adding nuts mix those in as well.
  • roll up the dough, beginning with the longest side. Slice as many rolls that you can. I usually yield approximately 14.
  • place on a buttery pan, then i usually cover them them with a cloth or saran wrap and then set aside to rise twice the original size. Usually takes about an hour. Humidity will make a difference in this process.
  • preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • after the rolls have risen bake them for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • in a bowl add cream cheese, butter, and 3 tbls. chai powder (I use Caffe D'Vita Enchanted Chai powder) together and mix well.
  • add vanilla and gradually add the powder sugar.
  • here add the sugar and milk as you obtain the consistency that you want.
  • remove the rolls out of the oven and glaze the rolls with the frosting and finish with chocolate of you prefer.

If needed, let the milk mixture sit for a few minutes until it is warm but not hot.
  • Either in the bowl of an electric stand mixer, or a mixing bowl, whisk softened butter and cream cheese together until combined. Then whisk in powdered sugar until combined. If the icing is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of milk to thin.
  • Warm Nutella in the microwave for a few seconds to help make it more spreadable, if desired. Then use either a piping bag to pipe it onto the cinnamon rolls, or use a fork to drizzle it on.

  • Open your rolls (I used Big and Flaky Pillsbury Rolls) and carefully unwrap the dough. As you unroll the dough, try to keep it together and do not separate at the perforations. On a clean work surface, spread out dough in one long row (makes a tall rectangle). Press the seams together, overlapping them to close any gaps. Generously spread Nutella over the entire surface, leaving ½-inch margins around all borders. Sprinkle how much cinnamon. you would like.
  • Begin with a short side and tightly roll up the dough into a log. With a sharp serrated knife, slice into 8 equal-sized pieces. Place pieces in prepared pan with ½-1" space in between each roll. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. 13 minutes did it for us. Baked but still gooey and delicious!
  • Right before rolls come out of the oven, make your glaze. Whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. You might need to play around with cream and sugar ratios until desired consistency is reached. As soon as you remove your rolls from the oven, pour your glaze and enjoy them chocolaty and oh so gooey.
