2 cups peanuts (deshelled, whole or halved)
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
1 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons Old Bay
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce. Stir thoroughly.
  • Add peanuts to the bowl and coat them thoroughly.
  • Transfer the peanuts to the parchment-lined baking sheet and spread them out evenly.
  • Cook the peanuts in the oven for 30 minutes, flipping once at the 15 minute mark to promote even browning.
  • Remove the peanuts from the oven and allow them to cool for five minutes. Serve immediately, or transfer the Old Bay peanuts to an airtight container for future eating enjoyment!

6 cups crisp corn, rice cereal, such as Crispix or Chex
3 cups thin pretzel sticks
3 cups oyster crackers
2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons hot-pepper sauce, such as Tabasco

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In a roasting pan, combine cereal, pretzels, crackers, and peanuts. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, lemon juice, and hot-pepper sauce. Pour butter mixture over cereal mixture and stir until ingredients are completely coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Transfer mixture to two rimmed baking sheets to cool completely.

I find this technique much easier than the stovetop pan method. You'll get beautiful, perfectly frosted nuts that are roasted evenly, with no bitter burned spots.

Cooking spray
1 cup untoasted walnut halves
1 cup untoasted pecan halves
1 cup unsalted, dry roasted almonds
1 cup unsalted, dry roasted cashews
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ cup white sugar
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • Combine walnut halves, pecan halves, almonds, and cashews in a large bowl. Add salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper; toss to coat.
  • Heat sugar, water, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until the butter is melted. Cook for 1 minute and remove from heat. Slowly pour butter mixture over the bowl of nuts and stir to coat.
  • Transfer nuts to the prepared baking sheet and spread into a single layer.
  • Bake nuts in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Stir nuts until the warm syrup coats every nut. Spread into a single layer, return to the oven, and bake until nuts are sticky and roasted, about 6 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
