5 pounds McIntosh or Macoun apples
Grated zest of 1 orange
Grated zest of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 pound cold unsalted butter, diced

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9 by 14 by 2-inch oval baking dish.
  • Peel, core, and cut the apples into large wedges. Combine the apples with the zests, juices, sugar, and spices. Pour into the dish.
  • To make the topping, combine the flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal, and cold butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until the mixture is crumbly and the butter is the size of peas. Scatter evenly over the apples.
  • Place the crisp on a sheet pan and bake for 1 hour until the top is brown and the apples are bubbly. Serve warm.

½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
½ cup finely chopped pecans ((about 2 ounces))
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 1 ½ -quart or 2-quart baking dish (or an 8-inch square dish) with cooking spray.
  • Combine cranberries, apples and sugar in the prepared dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine oats, melted butter, pecans, brown sugar, flour and salt. Sprinkle topping over the fruit.
  • Bake (uncovered) for 45-55 minutes (or until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown).

  • Place apples in a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. , In a medium bowl, combine flour and remaining sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbs form. 1 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cold butter
8 -9 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
7 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pieces

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • For the topping: Mix the flour, oats and brown sugar together until well combined.
  • Add in the cold butter and mix with fingers until it resembles coarse meal; place in the refrigerator while preparing the fruit layer.

⅓ cup butter, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x12-inch baking dish.
