BAKED APPLES
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Wash and core apples, leaving enough of the core at the base of the apple to contain the filling.
- Combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped pecans in a small bowl. Roll log shapes of the mixture and press enough into each apple to fill the core.
- Fill a 2-quart baking dish with about 3/4 cup water, or enough to cover the bottom. Place the apples upright in the dish. Bake until the apples are soft and the filling is browned, 1 hour.
CLASSIC BAKED APPLES
Classic Baked Apples are the perfect dessert for Fall. They are easy to make and are perfect for topping off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Starting from the apple stem, use a paring knife to remove cores from each apple, leaving the bottom of the apple intact to create a hollow bowl-like interior. Place each prepared apple into a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans. Spoon into the center of each apple to fill to top.
- Place 1/2 tablespoon of butter on top of each apple center. Pour water into the bottom of the baking dish so that the apples sit in the water and steam.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until apples are soft. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

OLD FASHIONED APPLE CAKE
A moist apple cake that I make in an angel food pan. Sauce is poured over cake when taken out of oven. Delicious!

- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, 2 cups sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Make a well in the center and pour in the eggs, oil, orange juice and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in the chopped apple, nuts and coconut. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 75 to 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Pour glaze over cake and let stand for 1 hour before turning out.
- To make the glaze: In a saucepan, combine butter, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 cup buttermilk. Bring to a rolling boil and pour over cake.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Core apples, leaving bottoms intact; peel top third of each. Place in a greased 8x4-in. glass loaf pan; fill with cranberries., In a small saucepan, combine water, brown sugar and honey; cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Steps:
- Remove the core of the apples with an apple corer or small knife, leaving about 1/2" at the base.
- Peel the top one third with a vegetable peeler or sharp knife.
- Place apples in an 8" square baking dish or in another ovenproof pan that holds them snugly.
- Place 1 tbsp.
- raisins in each apple.
- In a small bowl combine brown sugar with cinnamon and add 1 tbsp mixture to each apple.
- Place 1 small piece of butter in each apple.
- Combine syrup with apple juice in a small bowl and pour over and around apples.
- Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 45-55 minutes or until apples are very tender.
- Baste a few times during baking.

BAKED APPLES
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, lemon juice and zest. Stuff apples with mixture and place in small baking dish. Add 1/2 cup cider or water and bake for 30 minutes or until tender.

Steps:
- Peel off one strip around the center of each apple.
- Slice a thin piece off the bottom of each and place them almost touching in an oven proof dish.
- Combine the granola,raisins, nuts,cinnamon nutmeg and lemon peel.
- Toss to mix well.
- Divide the filling among the centers of the apples, pack the filling down lightly.
- In a saucepan combine the lemon juice, honey, apple juice& butter.
- Bring to a bubbly simmer about 5 minutes.
- Pour over the apples.
- Cover with foil and bake 350F degrees for 30 minutes.
- Uncover the apples and continue baking for about another 30 minutes, basting frequently with the juice.
- Cool to almost room temp serve with the cream.
