Chocolate-Banana Overnight Oats image

Chocolate-hazelnut spread adds a touch of luxury to your humble bowl of overnight oatmeal. Banana slices pair perfectly with the spread and add natural sweetness (no need for additional sugar). A sprinkle of flaky salt helps keep this quick breakfast from being cloyingly sweet.

½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats (see Tip)
½ cup water
Pinch of salt
½ small banana, sliced
1 tablespoon chocolate-hazelnut spread
Pinch of flaky sea salt

Steps:

  • Combine oats, water and salt in a jar or bowl and stir. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • In the morning, heat the oats, if desired, or eat cold. Top with banana, chocolate-hazelnut spread and sea salt.

Like dessert for breakfast! You can add more/less sugar if you want but adding the mashed banana in helps sweeten things up a bit. You can also add 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon for even more flavour.

2/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup milk, of choice (cow's, almond, soy, rice...)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 bananas
2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chunks

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the oats, milk, cocoa powder and sugar.
  • Mash one of the bananas and stir into the oats.
  • Divide between two bowls or mason jars and store in the fridge overnight.
  • In the morning, slice the other banana and top the oats with the sliced banana and chocolate chunks and serve.

½ cup vanilla greek yogurt
1 ½ teaspoons cocoa powder
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon chia seed, optional
1 banana, sliced
mini chocolate chip
banana, sliced, to serve
honey, to serve

Steps:

  • In a mason jar or sealable container, add the oats, milk, yogurt, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, chia seeds, and banana. Stir together.
  • Seal and place in the refrigerator overnight for up to five days.
  • Top with additional banana slices, chocolate chips, and honey if desired.
  • Enjoy!

2 bananas (ripe)
2 cups oats
½ cup peanut butter
1½ cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Smash bananas in large bowl.
  • Add all other ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Divide oats into three small mason jars.
  • Store in refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • Top with more bananas and chocolate chips. We like to heat ours up in the microwave when we're ready to eat.
